Stranger in river island

Article posted February 22, 2012 at 11:36 AM GMT+2 • comment • Reads 387

If Aneese came to River Island I would let him stay if he wants to. He was come from another island that is called jaffrican. I am sure that we would like to move away from the island with a crazy jaffricanian man that thinks he is the president and want some kind of factory! It should be very hard for Aneese to live there. I’m sure he would like to stay.

After a while He said that he wants stay. I was pretty happy but I’m not sure that everybody else would. Also I don’t think we would have a place for him to sleep. I hope he could stay.

Shape Choice

Article posted January 5, 2012 at 03:02 PM GMT+2 • comment (3) • Reads 492

The reason why I  chose the South America shape was because I am from Chile which is in South America. Also because I like how it is a circle so it is like the Earth and the water would be the words and South America would be all white.

Transition

Article posted December 9, 2011 at 08:41 AM GMT+2 • comment (2) • Reads 554

The transition from middle school to high school is hard and there are different issues students must deal with. You’re more mature in high school so you’re able to do more things and buy supplies for your classes. I interviewed two high school students so that when I get to high school most of my questions will be answered. These are my questions:

1.   Do you like high school?

High school student 1: Yes.

High school student 2: Yes I like high school because it is an important time in our lives.

2.   Did you like your time in A.C.S.?

H.S.S.1: Yes I met a bunch of people that I’ll know for a really long time.

         H.S.S. 2: Yes I like A.C.S.

3.   Is the homework hard?

H.S.S. 1: No so don’t worry.

H.S.S.2: As long as you paid attention in class, it’s alright. Helps you review the lesson.

4. Is it hard to move from middle school to high school?

H.S.S.1: Nope, not much difference just a little bit more work.

H.S.S 2:  The transition from middle school to high school will be challenging, but it gets easier eventually. Once you get the hang of it its smooth sailing from there.

5.   Is it true that you get to pick your classes?

H.S.S.1: Yes in 11th and 12th grade.

H.S.S.2: Yes you do get to choose which science course to take (biology, chemistry, or physics) language (French or Arabic),I don’t know about Lebanese baccalaureate.

6.   What is the biggest difference between middle school and high school?

H.S.S.1: I guess the whole concept of high school, is the stuff we learn, the teachers, the equipment, the thinking and preparing for the rest of our lives…

H.S.S.2: there is definitely more work in high school and much more effort expected but it helps you prepare for university life.

7.   What do you like about high school?

H.S.S.1: All the things get to do and learn. It’s really not as scary as you think, just enjoy it!

H.S.S.2: High school is when you discover yourself, and when life gets more serious.

Now that most of my questions are answered, high school will not be so hard. This is not just for me but for other fifth graders as well.

BBQ Dinner

Article posted October 24, 2011 at 02:52 PM GMT+2 • comment • Reads 716

I could smell the chicken in the BBQ roasting. When they gave it to us it smelled like heaven. The smell the fire was terrible, like putting your head on a fire. When it came out, the smell of garlic, burned chicken, and bread was delicious. I was starting to drool for it. I could feel the wetness of my own drool on my lips. I finally got one and when I bit it I felt the crunchiness of the chicken and the wetness of the sauce. I could hear the firewood for the BBQ burning it sounded as if they were wood in half. When I saw the person making the chicken, I wanted to eat it. The chicken sauce started to drip and the sides started burning. It was worth the wait until dinner.

The Camping Trip

Article posted October 14, 2011 at 03:11 PM GMT+2 • comment • Reads 711

When we got to Deir El Qamar, the first thing we did was build the tents. It was hard but the teachers were there to help us. Next we had a snack and after that we went on a 5 mile hike. We found lots of fossils and bullet shells. The way back to the camp was shorter. When we got back, they gave us lunch-- pasta a la Wissam. It was delicious. We had some time to ourselves. Then we went to the activity place and played Capture the Flag and face painted ourselves. When we came back, we did whatever we wanted. Then we had a bonfire   and then we had dinner. It was shish tauok sandwich. When we went to sleep, actually no one did. We all stayed up all night and in the morning everyone was sleepy.

For breakfast we had manushi and hot chocolate, then we took down the tents. Then we went to do the activity place and put bags on our legs and started to run with them on. When we went back to camp we had the same snack and went back to school.
