I do athletics every Wednesday!
I've joined a club that has an age ranged from two to fourteen! My favourite activities are high jump long jump, sprints and shot put. I challenge myself each week to beat my personal bests and normally I do.
My personal best for high jump is 1.27 metres, long jump is 3.95 metres, shot put 6.47 metres and discus is 14.49 metres!
There are ribbon days where you compete against other clubs and try and win ribbons!
I started athletics because I love running and this is about runnning and every thing else.
Do you think you would enjoy this?

What are crimes?
I've got a story to tell on what I think is a crime. It has happened to someone I know.
She was recently walking home from school and a car pulled up beside her, asked her to hop in. She refused so many times that he reached over to the passengers window and grabbed her arm!
She was so scared, she didn't stop wriggling and eventually he let go. she screamed and he zoomed off. she ran to the nearest house and then walked home!
I think that is really sick how someone can do that!
That is called kidnapping I think it's really bad
Do you think that this will happen again?

***My Brother and his thoughts about skating***

I think most people in the world underestimate skaters.
They blame us for vandilising property, when all we want to do is have fun and chill out with our mates.
Why do you think skaters over react when some one tells us to GO AWAY AND GET A LIFE? Because the haven't done anything wrong but skate, ITS NOT A CRIME!!!!
For example a boy was skating and got fined $750 for skating on a deserted footpath. He was riding his skateboard on a deserted CBD street when fined by a police highway patrol officer, the Gisborne Herald reported.
"I don't know of anyone else who has ever got a fine of $750 for skateboarding. Everyone I've spoken to thinks it's ridiculous ," Mr Baker said.
What do you think about skating and how people react?

I have only just realized how cool Twilight is!
Everybody has been talking about it and saying how cool it is and how Edward is so cool!
I watched Twilight and instantly fell in love with it!! It is all about a vampire who falls in love with a non vampire and another vampire smells her blood and tries to kill her but he doesn't let them!!
There is also New Moon Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
I think the books are better than the movie and I have just started reading them.
What do you think about Twilight?

On the 11th of may, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and Papamoa were hit by a Huge hail storm.
In most places it was knee deep in hail and even covered cars. Most resident's say that this was a storm to remember!!! There were people snow boarding down the sand dunes and even people being dragged along the sand by a truck.
Bay fair mall was closed as part of the roof collapsed. Some long term residents say that thay haven't seen any thing like it before in the sunny Bay of Plenty!
It even ended in one twister and a big water spout out in the water!
As Bay of Plenty residents recovered from freak hail storm that collapsed roofs, cut power, shut a school and closed roads , the rest of the country held its breath for more bad weather to come.
Do you think the sunny Bay of Plenty will be expecting more bad weather like this?

Swine influenza comes from a pig. It started in Mexico and has spread to at least thirty countries since the outbreak.
Six year 7 pupils at Alleyn's School in London have the virus. It's thought that the school will be closed for at least a week to stop the flu from spreading. Staff and pupils are being treated with medicine just in case they have caught the bug, but the health experts say there is no need to worry. There are now twenty seven cases of people with the virus in the UK. Meanwhile more than seven hundred people around the country are being tested to see if the have the virus.
In Mexico, it's thought that one hundred and seventy five people have died, but it has been confirmed at a lower one hundred and one people dead. My thoughts on the swine flu are that I would be terrified if the swine flu was nearer to me than i expected!! How would you react if the virus was close to you?

On the 11th of May twelve ambassadors from our school went to Rotorua in the morning to young leaders. We were there to get influenced in being a great leader, there were activities after each speaker. We had four adults come and speak to us, about keeping focused on being the best you can be. Our hosts were Charlie and Whitney, they were great because they were really entertaining and just kept going even though they might have mucked up.
Our first speaker was Nick Tuitasi, he was a great speaker, I think I will take some of his information in and use it. Nick has been part of the police force for over 20 years, he told us about his hardest call out he had ever done, he wasn't on duty but he was in a police car and he got called out to this house, he didn't have any protection and he went in to the house calmed this guy down, who was wrecking everything in his house because his wife and kids went off with his best friend. He also influenced me on having a plan/ goal and always following it through!
We had breaks and played games like the mexican wave, and then we got to throw this HUGE ball through the crowd and had relays.
Our next speaker was Kerri Tilby, she told us about this young boy who lived in a old flat, and he was born with bad muscles by the age of ten he was stuck in a wheel chair and could only move his body from the belly button up. His family left him at home all alone during the day, he would sit looking out the window staring at all the people walking by, he decided he wanted to make the world a better place for those people. So he started to write nice things (like you are wonderful) on pieces of paper and chucked them out the window, sometimes they would land on peoples clothes and they would read it and walk away with a smile on their face. She also told us that whatever we do it will always make a difference, and that leadership is focus
We then watched a short movie about never giving up.
Then Barbara Kendall told us about dreams and what dreams have to do with the future, she said everything starts with a dream, dreams are your future. If you can see it then you can do it. Passion=Energy=Motivation. Most people who fail in their dreams, fail from not lack of talent but lack of commitment. What you focus on is what you get be the best you can be, if you focus then you will be!
We then had sweet and sour perform to us there a really good hip-hop group.
Our last speaker was Russell Harrison he said to be a great leader you have to have a dream, and to believe in yourself always. Follow your dream don't be put down, work hard and live your dream. Make sacrifices for the better, show your passion/ love for what ever you do.
Would this have an impact on you if you experienced young leaders?
