2nd ESO A 2009
2nd ESO A, B, C and D are classes of grade 8 . They are students at "IES Vil·la Romana", a secondary school in La Garriga (Barcelona, Spain). They are learning English as a foreing language. They will practice their speaking and writing. They'd like to communicate to students around the world. This is the first year they're going to use this blog.

Ingredients
• 250 g (8,81 ounce) of flour.
• 4 eggs.
• 1/2L of milk.
• 1 cup of sugar.
• Vanilla.
• Salt.
• 50 g (1,76 ounce) of butter.
• Cointreau.
• Shaving of chocolate.
• Melting chocolate.
Elaboration:
1. Put the flour, eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt and milk in a bowlon .
2. Blend the paste until any lumps.
3. Add the melt butter and a dash of Cointreau.
4. Let the dough stand for few hours.
5. Cook the melting chocolate in a bain-marie. Take a pan.
7. Put on the fire ½ cup of paste.
8. Leave copper three minutes.
9. Distribute the shaving of chocolate on the surface.
10. Fold into half moon and new triangle.

En Cataluña y España hacemos cinco comidas durante el día, que son: el desayuno, el almuerzo, la comida, la merienda y la cena. Algunas las hacemos en casa y otras en la escuela.
Yo desayuno por la mañana antes de ir al instituto. Normalmente a las 7:30 de la mañana hasta les 7:45 de la mañana porque empezamos las clases a las 8:00 menos el martes que desayuno a las 8:30 hasta las 8:45 porque las clases empiezan a las 9:00 de la mañana. Habitualmente desayuno zumo de naranja natural y galletas.
Cuando llego al instituto hacemos las tres primeras clases antes de almorzar. Nosotros salimos al recreo a las 11:00 de la mañana y tenemos de tiempo para comer solamente media hora, hasta las 11:30 de la mañana. Habitualmente almuerzo bocadillos con algún embutido (jamón, jamón dulce, longaniza,…) o de crema de chocolate y para beber zumo de melocotón o piña o un yogurt líquido de fresa.
A la 13:30 del mediodía terminamos las clases y yo voy a casa a comer hasta las 14:40 del mediodía porque las clases las empezamos a las 15:00. De primer plato como habitualmente pasta, de segundo plato carne rebozada o pescado y de postres un yogurt natural con azúcar. Durante la comida bebo agua.
A las 17:00 de la tarde salimos del instituto y cuando llego a mi casa meriendo. Entre las 17:30 y las 17:45 de la tarde empiezo a merendar y normalmente termino entre las 18:00 y las 18:15 de la tarde. A veces meriendo leche templada con cacao y cereales de chocolate. Otras veces bocadillos de embutido (jamón, jamón dulce, longaniza,…) o crema de chocolate. En ocasiones especiales como croissant o bollería.
Para terminar el día, entre les 20:00 y las 21:00 de la noche como la cena en casa. Habitualmente ceno verdura de primer plato, de segundo plato carne a la plancha y de postre fruta.

Every morning I wake up at 7:00 o'clock. My parents bring me to high school at 7:50. In high school I study English, History, Geography, Catalan, Spanish, Math, Science, Technology, Music, History of religions and P.E. My favourite subject is history because it is interesting. My favourite teacher is Mar because she is very nice. I like going to school because I can see all my friends. Everyday, I eat lunch at 2:00 pm. I go home at 1:30 pm. For lunch, I usually eat pasta. The break time is 30 minutes long. The break time is at 11:00 am. In the break time I like seing my friends.

After I get up I drink an orange juice for breakfast. Later, at 11 o’clock I usually eat "fuet" sandwich (Catalonian sausage) and drink "actimel" (liquid yogurt). At the weekends for breakfast I drink milk and biscuits. I sometimes go to the cake shop to eat a croissant and milk and cacao, for me it is a special breakfast.

I can speak three languages, but I need to explain better.
First my maternal language is Catalan; it is the language that I speak at home, with my friends and normal communication.
Another language I can speak is Spanish.
Why can I speak Spanish?
Because in my country there are two languages, and I need to learn both languages. In the high school I study both and in the street and TV a lot of people speak Spanish.
Since primary school I am studying English, and I can say I can speak English but only a little.

5- Look for information about "La Castanyada" and write an article in your blog comparing Halloween and La Castanyada:
a- Things that are similar.
“La Castanyada” and Halloween come from an old ritual party funeral home. On “La Castanyada” and Halloween we carve pumpkins. We celebrate both festivals on 31st October.
b- Things that are different.
Halloween started in England, Scotland and Ireland and “La Castanyada” started in Catalonia.
