The Tundra is the coldest biome. The temperature is always cold, and it is always low. It only rains sometimes. There is not much snow either. The word Tundra means treeless land. There are few nutrients. There are two kinds of tundra’s, there is Arctic Tundra’s, and Alpine Tundra’s. This is the Alpine Tundra. Here are some of the animals in the tundra: arctic fox, arctic bighorn sheep, lemmings, polar bears, and caribou. The Tundra is really cold, and dry land ecosystem. It’s in the very northern part of the world. Cold winds blow and snowdrops. The winters are long, but the summers are short. The snow melts in the summer the soil stays frozen all year long. Many plants can’t grow in the tundra. There are not many trees, because the roots can’t grow in frozen soil. Small plants can instead. There are grasses and many kinds of flowers. When the snow melts it forms into little ponds. Many geese, ducks and swans nest near the pond.

I hope we go on awesome fieldtrips. I hope we get to make gingerbread houses. I want to do fun after school activities. I hope we have really fun class parties. I hope we get to play with cray fish. I hope I get to do girl scouts. I can’t wait until we get to play with clay in art. After school I go home and play with my two little dogs. I go to a friend’s house after school. I play on the trampoline with my brother after school. I go home after school and play on the game cube.
