Morgan
As Marie Collini. Wagon train # 4

August, 23, 1844.

Dear Diary
For the last couple of weeks we have been traveling on the Oregon Trail. Norm Cline fell in the fire a few days ago. Laura Swanson got injured a few days ago. My Name is Marie Collini. In Prairie Wells there were guards guarding the water and we all had a lack of water. Some people lost there live stock they went on the burial grounds trail. Some people in some families got lost looking for wild flowers. We heard that someone in wagon train # 1 got bit by a scorpion! We took the Cheyenne River trail I think it was a good idea because I heard that the people who took the burial grounds trail had lots of problems and the Cheyenne River trail has water and we are low on water. I think our wagon train will make it to Oregon. Our trail guide is Elizabeth Mingo. Our wagon train contains Elizabeth Mingo, Norm Cline, Minnie Flag, Marie Collini, James Seiple and Laura Swanson. We crossed the salt flats river in the beginning of the trip. We started our trip in Independence Missouri. We are about 4 months in to the trip. I think maybe someone could get sick or die. I hope none of us get bit by a rattle snake. I hope everyone makes it to Oregon safely. My family is from Italy. Everyone in my wagon train is so nice after we met each other we didn’t want to part. We also had to stop awhile when there was sage brush blocking the trail a few weeks or days ago. Maybe we will see some Indians when we reach Cheyenne crossings. Hopefully some of us make it to Oregon. My live stock is 8 chickens, 2 oxen and 1 horse.

Sincerely, Marie Collini.
(Morgan )

Chapter:2

The man took his dogs for a dog sledding ride.
They are trying to trap beavers.
They are trying to hurry back home.
On the way back home one of his dogs started bleedingfrom his rear end because his dry dog food cut his in sides.

My favorite part of chapter 2 is when they camp out and the dogs cuddle by him.

Salt water ecosystems

Oceans cover most of the world. There is salt in saltwater. The salt water gets very deep. Large fish & whales live in salt water. Many streams & rivers flow in to salt water. There is more salt water than land.
