Snapping Turtles
Snapping turtles are found in ponds, steams and canals. It spends most of it’s life in the water. They are active at night. Snapping turtles are fearless and sometimes they attack people! They live 30 to 40 years.
Alligators
Alligators are meat eaters. They live in swamps, marshes, canals and lakes. They use their tails to help them swim. They have webbed feet. Alligators are active at night. They eat fish, birds, turtles, reptiles and mammals. They have 80 teeth that will re-grow if they fall out.
Freshwater ecosystem has lots of plants and animals. The biggest freshwater marsh is in Florida. There are many plants like bulrush, water lily, and cattails. Some of the animals live in the water and some live above the water.
