Pioneer Diary

Dear diary, August 23rd 1844

We ( Norm, James, Marie, Minnie, Elizabeth, and Laura) decided to go on the Cheyenne river trail. We hoped and thought that it would be a good idea to go on the Cheyenne river trail because there would be lots and lots of water and meat from the wild animals. We have heard that someone on the Burial grounds trail got poisoned by a scorpion inside his shoe. One of the wagons on the Burial grounds trail had to drop two hundred pounds because they had to run away from the Indians or you can say Native Americans. I almost fell in the fire but I am glad I didn’t. I heard that someone almost got bitten by a rattlesnake but safely got away. Only one of our wheels fell off because of green wood. We decided to attack the guards for water at Prairie wells so we could have water. And guess what nobody got hurt. Also Laura got hurt in the sagebrush somehow. We almost got lost in the big grass looking for wild flowers but I am glad we didn’t. And sagebrush oh that sagebrush it almost make us get off the trail. Also we almost lost some of our livestock ( animals and stuff like them). We expect to have lot’s of luck, courage, and health, and we hope nobody gets hurt or anything like that. We feel like it will be painful, a long time, and stressful. We all think and hope that it will be a fun trip and a happy tip. Also now I am going to talk about my family now. There my wife Kris, my daughter Kristiena and my mom Mable.

Norm Cline,
AKA: Parker

My Favorite part was when Gary Paulsen thought that storm had to go to the doctor because he was spraying blood out of his rear end. Dry dog food has cornin it and the corn felt like little knives cutting through his stomache.

Did you know that the bobcats are very fierce animals that live in some forests some swaps, some mountains, prairies, and even Deserts in more like Northern America. They are even generally nocturnal means ( most active at dawn or dusk)spend the day in their dens. That means ( a cave, hollow stick or log and rookie serves).oh and they are very, very, very excellent swimmers. Oh and they are also very, very, very excellent oh and did mention that they are a prey upon cougars, coyotes, wolves, owls, and even us (human beings. Now what do you think about that. Haw! Oh I almost forgot that it eats small creatures like rabbits, hares, rodents, foxes, weasels, and even a small deer, bird, fish, and even eggs.

Did you know that the gray wolf is also known as the timber wolf. It is also a wild dog that lives in groups- packs. Oh and they live in treeless places. And even the Tundra. It is a very fast carnivore (meat eating animal.) After exticked they are now found in Alaska, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin. If they see a another wolf they’ll tell them if it’s the beginning or end hunting season. They have strong jaws (teeth) and sharp teeth including canine teeth that tear flesh. Adults are about 41/2 feet long, and weights about 80lbs. Oh and they have very, very good eyesight. And good hearing. And sense of smell.

Did you know that the old and great Basin Desert is both the highest Northernmost of the 4 is pretty cold in the winter, which limit the growing season on the summer regardless of the fun seasonal precipitation. Oh and even rattlesnakes live in the Basin Desert. Oh and I forgot to mention it is pretty grassy there.
