Field Day

In my opinion, Field Day had just a bit more expectations of responsibility because some of us in our class were either leaders or co-leaders. While my ‘buddy’ and I were leading the team, I thought of how last year’s leaders were. Trying my best to stay calm unlike the rest of my team, I learned that being a leader wasn’t just to stay stiff and lead the team. I played with my team; I didn’t just boss them around. Even though I am a fifth grader, I was a bit confused when I saw people cheating in some games. Maybe the teachers didn’t think that those cheats weren’t such a big deal? I am a person who likes everything perfect, so I thought that those little cheats were significant. I was also puzzled when one of my team mates threw a sponge (right in my face!) in the water game. Even though these small things got tangled up inside my Field Day, I still had loads of fun!

I have a dream…
I have a dream to have peace on this earth,
I have a dream to free all the chains off people’s hearts,
I have a dream to have a dream.

The World

The World
Thankfulness
Is gold to one,
But dirt
For another.
The universe
Is only the change
That we did
In the past.
The stars
Are a sign
Of our worlds
Change
And the eclipse
Is a sign
Of our planet
Protesting
We should have
A right base
To start building
Our planet
In a good way
As the humans
Have already
Built
Our world
On a bad base,
Our world
Is turning
Out as it’s not
Supposed to be.
Change is good,
But only in one way.
This world needs so much care,
More than we can give.

Sorrows and Happiness

Sorrows and Happiness
Sorrow,
Can be brushed
Away,
With just a smile,
Or a friend,
Or a flower,
Or a fruit,
Or a color,
Or a bird.
Sorrow,
Can be brushed
Away,
With the sound
Of a
Bird
Chirping in the
Evening light.
