Compare & Contrast Article~And Then There Were None book vs. movie

 

    For a class novel study we read the well known Agatha Christie novel - And Then There Were None. The book was well written in my opinion. Masking the charcters secrets was a noticible trait of the book. The folowing article will compare and contrat the book and movie.

 

   In comparison to eachother, the two stories both had 10 geusts come to a rocky island invited by a U.N. Owen. Also Vera Claythorne was shown to her room first and also is the one who notices the 10 Little Indian poem. Similarily to the novel in the book she is the one to notice that the other geust are dying in order of the poem.

 

   In contrast, some of the charcters ahve different names. Also, instead of introducing the charcters and showing them on their way to the island and the letter they recieved that part is skipped. The movie jumps right into all 10 geusts on there way to the island by a tiny watter boat. Another diference is that when Mrs. Rogers faints in the book, in the movie she just screams and colapses on the floor panting and weasing. I also find that the movie much more dramatic then the book. In the novel the charcters seemed more relaxed about the deaths and in the film they are very dramatic about the deaths. Another contrating point is the movie has a diferent ending to the book.

 

   I found this an interesting activity beacuse it really made me thin about the book. It made me pay atention to impotant details. I also had to watch the movie looking for points that might be valid for this blog.

 

   In conclucian, I thought that the movie and the book were both very good. I have seen the movie before and thought it was fun reading the book too. I like the way in the movie things happen faster and you can see things hapening. I liked the book beacuse you can imagine the charcters and the island.

Book review: Pandora gets jealous

Pandora gets jealous.

    Recently, I concluded a book called Pandora

Gets Jealous by Carolyn Hennesy. I enjoyed it very

much. The following  book review will provided a

summary of the book.

     

        Pandora Gets Jealous is set in Ancient Greece.

The main character is a young maiden named Pandora.  

Pandora finds herself in big trouble when she brings an

ancient box to school for “show and tell day.” However,

if the box is opened, all the evil in the world will come out.

The box belonged to Zeus. Pandora’s father Prometheus

was in charge of talking care of it.                

     

        Accidentally things get out of hand and the box is

opened by a classmate. Subsequently, Pandora is

brought before Zeus and Hera, and the rest of the

immortals. They are all very upset with her. 

She has released 5 evil spirits into the world.  

She is offered 6 months to collect back the evil

 she let out. As Pandora starts to realize what she

has to do, she wonders what will happen if she

can not collect back the evils. The reader follows

Pandora and her many adventures as she pursues the evils.

     

         In conclusion, I very much enjoyed reading

this mythical adventure story. The novel left you

wondering what would ensue next and what would

happen to Pandora? I would highly recommend this

book to anyone who enjoys Greek mythology and

adventure. While it may appeal to a female reader,

males would also find it worth reading. I plan to read

the other books in the series Pandora Gets Vain and

Pandora Gets Lazy.

My March Break!
I can not belive that march break is here!I feel like Christmas has just passed! I am really looking forward to the break and to be honest my plans are rather plain(in a good way!)

My plans as I said previously are well, relaxing& playing as well as skiing(if there is any snow left...fingers cossed there is!)

That basicly sums up my break! Whats going on with yours? why dont you comment and tell me! I would love to ear from you! Bye! Happy break and thanks for reading!

Group Resolutions: Final Week!

Group Resolutions Week#8

Week 8. Yes, 8 weeks ago our group resolutions started. At first reading 300 pages sounded like a lot with home work,dance practice& swimming lessoons. However, as the days turned into weeks reading books did not feel like a burdun or chore it was more like an enjoyment, a pleasure time....a way to escape the troubles of the real world.

I finished 300 pages through a variety or books, magazines, comics and text books. Among my novel selection was Pandora Gets Jelous, Weetamoo Heart Of The Pocassests& Bella At Midnight. Among my magazines there was American Girl Magazine, among my comics Betty& Veronica and among my text books...math, history, science ect.

In the end I found this excersize productive and fun. It has given not just me but, my whole class the opertunity to chalenge ourselves by reading, trying new things, recyclying and more. I will continue to read and enjoy the pleasures, adventures and escapes of reading. Maybe I have inspired you to start a resolution beacuse it is not too late...it is never to late to change...
