Teaching, Learning and Sharing -
I am the ICT PD Cluster Facilitator for the Te Whakatipuranga Hou Cluster. Our Cluster is made up of 5 Bay of Plenty Primary Schools - Welcome Bay, St Mary's, Omanu, Mount Primary and Te Akau Ki Papamoa.
This Blog previously belonged to two of my classrooms but will now be used as a teaching tool and as a place to add internet and ICT tools for teacher and student learning.
Don't forget to check out our Cluster Wiki....see the link on the lefthandside.

Learners in Room 1 at Omanu school showed their Kiwi ingenuity by using and adapting the Comic Life software programme to suit their needs. This is an excellent example of integrating ICT and Literacy to ensure a memorable learning experience!

If you are a Mac user (and you have iwork 08!) the photographic world is your oyster......no, seriously....the instant alpha tool is fantastic. Once your learners start they will be hooked!
What is it?
Well basically you can take the background out of any (well almost any!) situation (obviously a plain coloured background is easier). Then you can 'place' yourself anywhere you like.....
Here are some examples....
Many thanks to Room 3 at Whakaronga School for uploading their pics to a public Flickr site. The more we 'share' the more we learn and the more we inspire others to do the same!
I have a large resource of non-copyright animal photo's available to you....below is an example of 15 of them......I have them on a flash drive so it will only take seconds and you can get started!

Wordle is a toy for generating "word clouds" from text that you provide. You can also link other wiki's and websites to this site so that your clouds can be generated for you. You can customise the font, colour and layout.

Just click on the badge below the bookcase to create your own.....
About the Blogger
I am a wife, mother, teacher and ICT geek! I love anything to do with technology and integrating thinking skills into the classroom. I believe in building an exciting classroom environment where ICT is seemlessly thread throughout the daily programme, where it is sustained and celebrated.
Below are the 5 Symbols (or school logo's) that represent the Te Whakatipuranga Hou Cluster, who I am proud to be represent and be actively involved with.
