OKAY GUYS,
WE HAVE READ 77 PAGES AS OF TODAY. SHARE WHAT YOU THINK OF THE BOOK, BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE EVERY BOOK YOU READ, JUST REMEMBER TO HAVE A RESPECTFUL DISCUSSION. YOU ALL NEED TO REMEMBER THAT WE DON'T ALL LIKE THE SAME THINGS EITHER; THAT WOULD BE BORING.
IF YOU LIKE THE BOOK, TELL US WHY. YOU KNOW THAT I LOVE IT. EVERY TIME I READ ABOUT THE MAN WITH THE LIMP DUMPING HER MOTHER OUT ON THE STREET, I GET CHILLS. I ALSO LOVE ALL OF THE HISTORY!
SHARE WITH US WHAT YOU THINK SO FAR.

Hi Guys,
I hope you are having a great holiday break. I have been having a very relaxing week. So far I have spent time reading my book "Why Kids Hate School", and I have gotten caught up on my sleep. Post a message and let us know what you are doing during the break.
Happy reading,
Ms. V

Okay, let's change the topic of our discussion.
Write a personal narrative about the best thing that has ever happened to you at school, no matter what grade you were in. Think back to a day that was almost perfect, as far as school goes. Tell us as many details as you can so we can see and experience it much like you did. By the way, this is a memoir, or personal narrative, and nonfiction writing.

I'm so impressed with you guys. First of all, you have figured out how to work the blog with almost no directions. Secondly, you all know what you can do to become better students. You want to succeed and you are willing to work in order to do so.
I'm very proud of you. Your willingness to try and learn new things and take pride in your work will set you apart from those students who do not work hard. It will be easy to see that you are quality students and other students and teachers will respect you for your hard work.
It seems like you are all enjoying the school year. Yes, I know a lot of things are different and challenging. That is what makes it so much fun! Would you really want to be treated like a baby again? Would you really want to be treated like you were in first grade? Deep down you know you are ready for more. You are in 6th grade...you want to feel like you are in 6th grade. You have waited a long time to get here.
Continue to learn and have fun. I love watching you grow; that's the fun part for me.

Write a note sharing how you feel about the start of school. Was it harder then you thought it would be? Was it easier? What has been your favorite part of the new year so far?
Click on the word "comment" in red below this paragraph and then follow the directions. Only use your first name and the initial of your last name. NEVER put your whole name on a blog post, and NEVER put your email address. We don't ever do that.
We can't wait to read what you have to say,
Mrs. V

Hello Everyone,
I'm very excited that school has started again. I can't wait to get to know everyone. We will be using this site to post our thoughts and on occasion, some work. There will be more on how to use it later on in the semester. For now, just take a look and get familiar with the site.
Take care,
Ms. V
