Hi to all of Room 11.
I know that you are all really loking forward to returning to school for term 4. Now would be a perfect opportunity to pos an article or two to our blog. You could let us know about some of the exciting things you have done during the holidays, or you may like to state your opinion on something more topical. These could include comments relating to the various fatal car accidents that have taken place in the last 2 weeks - most of them involving speed. While on the topic of driving, has anybody noticed how many drivers take incredible risks with their lives and the lives of others by going through red lights? Another interesting incident is the earthquake that was felt by seismographs in the crater lake of Mt Ruapehu. Is the mountain due for another large explosion? What do you think?
Have a relaxing last couple of days of the holidays, and I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday.

Hi Room 11 & Mrs S,
I'm so glad to see that some people are still writing on the blog! I do pop in here to read and comment, and I find your posts really interesting.
One of the courses I've been doing is about ICT. As part of an assignment, I'm investigating the use of blogging in the classroom. We have to build a "wiki", which is kind of like a webpage but built differently. Has anyone heard of a wiki before? I hadn't before this ICT course, so I'm finding it really interesting.
In this assignment, I'll be giving other teachers information on how to set up a class blog, and doing research on how to use it effectively. I'll let you know how I get on, and will probably have a survey for you all to fill in sometime in the future.
In the meantime, I'd love it if you could all add some new posts. If you can't think of anything to write about, browse the blogs of your classmates. I've been impressed at the topics people have been writing about.
It was lovely to see you all when I popped in a couple of weeks ago, and I hope you're all having a great week.

I am impressed by the number of entries that have been submitted. Some of these have been entered at home - which means that you people are self-motivated. Well done. It is very pleasing to read about your opinions - we value these especially in a world where we sometimes feel hesitant to say what we think and feel. Keep the articles coming.

Great to see more and more articles being posted onto blogs. Keep it up everyone!
For visitors to people's blogs, remember that you can leave comments - simply click on "comment" at the bottom of the article. You don't need to put in an email address, only your name and what you wish to say.
Now for those of you who are "bloggers" - if you're stuck for ideas on what to write, here's a few ideas to get the brain going:
*a review of a film you've seen recently
*how you felt when saying your speech in front of the class
*a bit about your speech topic and why you chose it
*what you think about blogging
*your life dreams - where do you want to be in 10 years?
*your all-time favourite book/movie/song and why
Does anyone else have any more ideas? Let me know your thoughts on these topics and any others you can come up with!! (click on the comments button).

Welcome to the blog of Room 11! We're looking forward to reading the written gems you all come up with.
Once we're up and running (and you have your username and password) you can even write on your blog from home.
