The Cordata 4th graders and some 5th graders went out on the Victoria Star today and saw 4 orcas from J pod=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://

One of them was Granny. She is 100 years old and a resident orca. She swam around and did some leaps and tail flips. She also blew water out of her blowhole. We also saw Mike a 21 year old resident male who is about 30 feet long and had a dorsal fin height of 6 feet. We saw 2 fins circling the other whale watching boats too. There was a abundence of comorants and porpises. We also saw some harbor seals and bald eagles.

It was really cool!

Did you go to the ski to sea parade on friday? I did. I walked w/ Girls On The Run and passed out flyers. I had lines of boys wanting flyers about Girls on he Run.....hmm. Interesting.

Do any of you help out in a life skills class? The kids are amazingly awesome! They are really smart and funny. I know one boy from Mr.B's class who is extremely smart and he is a very good reader. One girl [also in Mr.B's class] who loves helping others. Every morning she helps her friends unpack and she signs with her friend a sweet little boy who is really talented in spelling and writing. He also loves to use Ipads. Who doesn't? One boy is really creative and loves Star Wars and Angry Birds. Another boy is a really good dancer and he loves to give high-fives and play with cars. One cute little girl plays house and loves to read No David books. She likes jewelry and she wears dresses practically every day.These kids are SO awesome=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://!!!!

hi peeps! the big event was awesomely awesome. I had a lot of fun. I had a sno-cone that turned my tongue blue. Did any of you peeps try the sno-comes? The bouncy house was really fun cause if you bounced high enough you could hit your head on the squishy ceiling. I had 2 sodas and i chugged th 1st one pretty much so I was REALLY REALLY hyper. Did you have fun @The Big event? i have to say even though i liked this event i liked the Sock Hop at Birchwood better.

hi! i'm in california right now. hehe. it has been really warm. it was once 82 degrees. hows the weather in Bellingham? i have been texting my friend maygk2000 a lot and she has been keeping me somewhat updated. I went shopping in San Fransico with my mom and grandma. i have been swimmimg every day at the local YMCA. i went night swimming with my family. it was really fun. they light the pool up and the hot tub is like 90 degrees. what have you peeps been doing all spring break?

I saw the Hunger Games movie on Saturday and it was awesome! I am going to review the movie and tell you my opinion.

THE MOVIE IS AWESOME=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://=http://!!!

It is very intense. Before warned that it has a PG-13 rating. The movies topic, teens fighting to the death for public entertainment is about a PG-13 rating, don't ya think?

The Reaping scene is very intense. Prim is very nervous and for any of you that are extremely emotinal this might pull a few tears.

The training and interviews are pretty funny. They are not that bad. Peeta proclaims his love for Katniss which might make a few of you roll your eyes and encourage her to shoot him in the arena. For those of you who didn't read the books [shame on you!] this is Peeta's strategy to protect him and Katniss. Turns out it wasn't a strategy for Peeta. The conversation Katniss has with Peeta the night before the Games is prety interesting and not super emotional. Try not to get to attached to any of the characters 'cause 22 of them don't make it out alive.

The scene where Katniss is getting ready to be launched into the Arena is pretty intense.

The minute before the Games begin is really intense. As soon as the gong sounds, beware! A lot of people die. Cato is an extremely violent killing machine. All the scenes in the Arena are intense. The wildfire scene, tracker jackers, and close range fighting are pretty awesome and violent. If you are scared of wasps, cover your eyes during the tracker jacker scene!

The scene where Rue dies IS SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO sad. Rue is one of the only people Katniss cares about and her death is really sad.

The mutt scene is scary 'cause the mutts come out of the middle of nowhere and Cato is really bloody and he now knows that he's not going to win the games so the realization that you're going to die probably is depressing. When he dies it is pretty gruesome.

WARNING: This movie is not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach. A lot of the tributes die with their eyes open so it's really weird.

Overall the movie is very good. The actors are really good, the script is almost exactly like the book. The clothes,costumes,reapings,arena scenes and other parts are almost exactly like the book.

The girl who plays Katniss is awesome. She plays Katniss perfectly. Jennifer Lawrence is awesome! Josh Hutcherson is almost exactly like Peeta with wit,charm and care. Haymitch is really funny. Effie is really weird and funny with her perfect manners and "colorful' makeup.

Here is what the Hunger Games is about:

The Setting: Futuristic North america. Where we live now is underwater in the books. 74 years ago,there was a series of natural disasters and wars. The rebels lost to what is called the Capitol and they now rule over 12 districts. There were 13 but one was obliberated. Each district specializes in a certain thing such as lumber,coal,luxury items,agriculture and more.  The Capitol is a big city full of weird styles ,lavish parties and they enjoy the yearly television show, The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a TV show that happens once every year. In all the 12 districts, 1 boy and 1 girl are picked to be in the Hunger Games. All 24 [sometimes 48] "tributes" are thrown into a inclosed outdoor arena to fight to death. The arenas are different every year. Capitol or district citizens can sponsor their favorite tributes to help them win. Some tributes are bloodthirsty and vicious,some  run and hide in hopes that everyone else will just kill themselves. If you win the Games, you become rich.

The Reaping is where the tributes are picked. Teens 12-18 put their name in a glass bowl in every district  once a year. When you're 12, you're name goes in once. When you're 13,it goes in twice. So on until you're name is in the bowl 7 times during you're last year. The catch is that many people have starving families and that you can put your name in extra times for food. Some districts like 1,2 ,3 and 4 are pretty rich and the kids don't starve. Those districts are the Capitol favorites. The teens in those districts actually train in a academy for the honor of representing their district. They will then volunteer in the Reaping. They are lethal,powerful killers who enjoy killing others. They also get lots of sponsors. The Cornocopia is in the middle of the arena,near the starting plates. The Cornocopia has weapons,food and survival supplies. Your starting plates are what you sand on for 60 seconds before the games begin. If you step off a minute early, the land mines will explode.

The Hunger Games book is about a 16 year old girl named Katniss Everdeen who is strong,indepent and very protective of her younger sister Primrose Everdeen. She also hunts illegally. When her 12 year old sister Prim's name is called during the reaping, she volunteers. Her friend Madge gives her a mockingjay pin.She is whisked into the Capitol where she trains for the games amd wins over a few sponsors. Peeta Mellark is the boy tribute from District 12 and Katniss has a history with him. During the interviews, he confesses his love for her and she pushes him into a vase. During training, she scores a 11. Thats really good. She shot an apple out of a roasted pigs mouth. I guess the Gamemakers liked her attitude! She is extremely talented with a bow and arrow and that makes her a dangerous opponent to the Careers[ The tributes from districts 1,2,3 and 4]. When she is put in the arena she has to fight forest fires with fireballs, dehydration,tracker jackers[dangerous wasps] and the Careers. She teams up with Rue[District 11] and destroys vital survival supplies for the Careers. When there is 6 tributes left, the gamemakers change the rules. There may be two victors if they are from the same districts. This rule is beneficial for the star crossed lovers from district 12, Katniss and Peeta. Katniss finds Peeta, wounded from Cato's [district 2] sword. Peeta was part of the Careers because Cato thought Peeta would help him find Katniss the girl who outscored him in training and mocked him a few times. She helps him survive but he needs fancy medicine from Capitol labs. A sponsor, probably Haymitch, her mentor sends here sleep syrup and she drugs Peeta and sneaks out to the Cornocopia where the gamemakers are giving supplies. Clove an expert knife thrower from district 2 almost kills Katniss but Thresh[district 11] kills Clove out of anger. He thought Clove killed Rue, the twelve year old from 11. Marvell, from district one actually killed Rue. Katniss gets the medicine and Peeta is healed. They go out hunting and Peeta finds nightlock berries, a deadly berry that will kill you before it reaches your stomach. Foxface,from 5 eats the berries and dies. Peeta and Katniss go to the Cornocopia where Cato is being chased by muttations, deadly wolves. They are extremely powerful. Their most haunting attribute is they look like each of the 21 dead tributes. Cato falls over the edge of the Cornocopia and Katniss kills him out of pity. They wait to be rescued by the Capitol hovercraft but no one does. Finally the gamemaker tells them that only one victor will be allowed and that may the odds be ever in your favor. Katniss does not want to die but she can't live without Peeta becasue he means so much to her. She picks up a handful of nightlock berries and she and Peeta ar about to eat them win the gamemaker declares that there will be two victors. When they get to the Cpitol, Haymitch informs them that he Capitol didn't like the trick with the berries because they felt it mocked them. Katniss has to pretend that she did it because she was driven crazy by love. President still is unpleased. The next to books explain her battle against the Capitol to survive. and destroy the Hunger Games.

I reread the Hunger Games book last night. I still cried when Rue died,shot daggers at Gales name and remembered everything in detail! When I see the movie I am going to check all the details and make sure they got everything right! For example, in the trailer Katniss gives her mockingjay pin to Prim. In the book,Madge gives Katniss the pin as a district token and it becomes the sign of rebellion. I took a quiz online and I am:Katniss!. Yay! Katniss is awesome!.

Anyway,funny story of what happened @ the vets office with my dog. As some of you know I have a adorable Border collieAustralian shepard. That is 2 of the most hyper dog breeds [in my opinion!] put together! Any way my family took Miss Bobs to the vets and she saw the couches for people. My dog is extremely spoiled and sleeps on people beds,rides shotgun in the car, and LUVS couches!! She walked over and jumped on that cushy couch. I was not amused. It was actually really funny but still.  When we took her into her prison cell A.K.A. the examining room,there was a bench for the owners to sit on. Guess what happened? She walked over and jumped on the bench,curled into a little ball and closed her eyes.

 I really really really liked the acrobat show. I liked the balancing chair act the best! It was reall cool how his feet almost touched the curtains! I was freaked out during the nail bed act. Yay! There was no school today [duh! I went sledding in the wonderful  snow on Monday. My friend and I sledded on Sunday because there was a lot of snow in her yard and she has her own private sledding hill. My friends and I sled and snowboard! It is fun 'cause you just stand up on your sled and go down the hill. There were some sled jumps and they were awsome except for if you sit on your knees and go down off the jump it hurts. A lot! Mt.Baker got 38 more inches of snow over the 4-day weekend. I bet there is a lot of powder up there. School is cancled which was great because I got to sleep in and go sledding early in the morning with my dog. As soon as I woke up on Monday I took my dog Bobbi to the park. I sled and she runs down the hill chasing my sled[which is red!] She tries to eat it. She thinks that it is giant sausage! Cleo

I liked spirit week and I hope everyone did too. But I love winter break even more! I slept in until 10:15 this morning. No,I am not a early-riser except for X-mas morning. One year my brother and I woke up around,oh,lets say, 3 in the morning! It was also the year my brother got is bagpipe and I got my drum and we were little so we went bonkers and ran around the house playing our instuments. We got sent back to bed pretty fast. Hi people! I just read the 3rd Alvin Ho book. It is really funny. I never knew anyone could be afraid of so many things at once. Has anyone read any other sasqautch books? Hmm? I liked DragonBreath 'cause it was funny and I liked the illustrations. 11 Birthdays was good too. Angela can not be trusted! I read 13 gifts at the begining of the year and I thought it was neat how the author incorperated old characters with new ones.  Sadly, my time helping out at Mr.B's class has come to a end. Maybe I can help again! I feel connected to those kids and know that they are probably the sweetest kids you will ever meet. *Eyes watering* How is your break going? Mine is going good! I actually got a lot of my X-mas shopping done early this year so I can relax! I am going to start baking tommorow or today. I love making shortbread cookies 'cause of the fun procedure. Hi! I just got my christmas tree yesterday afternoon. We took my dog Bobbi to the tree farm and she went bonkers 'cause of all the smells. I think she smelled deer or rabbit. Most of the trees were about her size so when she ran underneath them the waterlogged needles got her soaked. Decorating the tree was really fun although it took forever to put the lights on. I have some special ornaments that I got as a baby.  One is a heavy glass swan with a baby sleeping on it's back. It says "New Millennium Baby. I was born in 2000 which was a new millennium. I love decorating the little shelf in the living room. I put mini nutcracker soldiers and a snowman made out of rice,buttons and a old sock. I love spending time with my family during the holiday season. My grandparents arrive soon. Yay! I hope that it snows more on Baker. Last time I went up it was all powder. I like to sled with my friends. They go to another school and I miss them! Sniff! We find a sledding route we like and all squeeze onto a tiny little sled. We make up funny ryhmes to say[scream]as we go down. Most of the time our sleds get caught on little roots and shrubry. Oh well! I just finished this really good book called Into The Wild. *Cue fairytale music* It is suspensful. * Cue the Jaws theme song* I watched Super 8 last night. It was pretty funny but intense too. I like making gifts for my family every year for X-mas. I made decopauge jars from pretty tissue and I love sewing gifts. It is fun to walk into a fabric store and looking at all the new prints. I like batik fabrics the most. They are very colorful. I like reading with Mrs. Q's kinders. I read many versions of The Gingerbread Man. I can not wait for Harvest Lunch. Yummy! Cleo

Hi peeps! How are you today? I am doing good. I just finished[like 3 minutes ago] Snakehead. It is a really good book about a teen spy who has to save the world from mass destruction a lot. It is the 7th book in the Alex Rider series. If you love suspensful books then you should read this series. I am going to continue reading "Miss Spitfire". It is about Annie Sullivan,Helen Keller's teacher who taught her important things about life and helped become the person she was even though she was deaf AND blind. That must have been pretty hard to do schoolwork or play outside. Has anyone read the Sisters Grimm series? It is really funny. You know the brothers grimm,the brothers who wrote really good[but sometimes violent] fairy tales. I read the first book in spring and fell in love with the series and read it in the summer. Hi peeps,it's me! I had a fun weekend[aside from being sick!] Anyway,Scarlett and me ran a 5k on Saturday and it was really fun. We got medals and there was a raffle at the end. Hi! I just wanted to write a quick little blog article about winter sports. I love to ice skate,ski and sled. It is also fun to watch one of my friends indoor soccer games. I always cheer her team on except for the time that I cheered for the other team. Hey, when both teams are fast runners 2 colors look the same! I like skiing and sledding because me and my 2 friends go bonkers when ever it snows. That is probably why our parents don't let us have hot cocoa until after sledding! I also like to ice skate. Well,I wouldn't call it ice skating,more like ice slipping,falling,crashing into painfully hard wall and such. I am pretty clumsy. 5 years of ballet did not do much to help me stop being a klutz. Hi! I can not wait for the running programs 5k that I am in. We run 3 miles and it is really fun because we get to unpermanetly dye our hair. They also have a raffle. Last time I won a cool T-shirt with a footprint on it telling us about the carbon footprint humans are leaving. I also got a lollipop! I like running with my friends and coaches. 3 of my friends are in it so I have a ton of fun. I get side aches from laughing so hard ! I also can not wait for the holiday port festival. The book I am reading is awesome. It is called The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. It is about a sassy girl named Calpurnia [Callie] who does not want to act like a lady but her mother is very keen on her having proper manners. Callie is not happy with her mom's descion and she has a plan. It is the summer of 1899 and the heat is unbearable for poor Callie. She cuts her hair so that the heat will be not as unbearable. She meets her smart grandfather and they have a lot in common with each other. She discovers something very important with him. Hope you can all read it! Hi! It is me! Blogging is so addicting [as you may have noticed I blog every night]! I went to Math Champs today. It was challenging because we were learning pre-algebra. I just need to get the steps down and then I bet it will be really fun. I like hanging out with my friends after-school and doing math. In my class we are performing Readers Theatre stories for the class. My groups story is about a wild weather game 2 siblings play. It has a great ending.   I cannot wait for Sasquatch Club!!! It is where you get to read awesome books and you answer questions about the books with your team of four. You compete against other teams and whoever wins the school contest goes onto the Sasqatch SuperBowl against all the other school's teams. I love to read and I have a awesome team [you guys rock!]. JA is where some people from are community come and teach us about important things like currency[money],jobs,banks,buisnesses,and other very important things that I may left out of the list. It is really fun because we learn a lot while having fun and doing crafts or interactive games. I really like JA and I hope you do too!

Hi people! It is me and I am excited for Harvest Lunch of the Month.  It is yummy carrot salad. I know,your thinking that yummy and carrot should not ever,under any circumstance be used in the same sentence but carrots are actually really good. Sadly, carrots do not give you super vision but they are great for you in other ways. Anyway, I hope they serve the awesome ceaser salad with chicken and really good bread rolls. Hi! I am writing to tell you about Mt.School. It is awesome. The food was great.  The lodges were great because there was bunk beds and the showers were really warm. It was fun to talk to my friends and bond with them at Mt.school. My trail group leader was awesome because we got to play really fun games and we learned so much in 3 days! We learned about glaciers,animals, rock types , abiotic,biotic, the dam by MS and we got to come up with a really cool legends and practice them with our trail groups. My part was the storyteller and it was really fun. I was with my friends and I made some new friends at Mt.School so it was awesome. I hope everyone has the oppurtunity to go to Mt.school or has went to MS. Please comment or share MS stories!!!!
