Mysteries
The best mystery I ever read was The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman. I think of it as the best mystery I ever read, probably because it was one of the few mysteries I ever read. I also think it was entertaining because it kept me reading and usually I stop reading after I’m about half way through the book. Another thing that I liked about this book was that it wasn’t just a mystery it was an adventure, and I rather read an adventure than a mystery. I liked the way that the author developed the characters because it gave me a good sense of who they were, their lives as teenager, their struggles, and their adventures at the repository. If I had to write the beginning of a mystery I would begin it like this. I was sitting in the living room and the wind was howling outside. My parent weren’t home, and I was about to go over to my neighbor’s house to hang out with my friend because I didn’t want to be alone. When, out of nowhere, I heard a thud. I decided I would be brave, and I went upstairs to find my favorite stuffed bunny’s head missing. Attached to the bunny was a note that said, “I got the BUNNY …”.Do you think that this will make a good mystery?
