I saw a section on CNN about a pregnat woman geting arrested over a $5 sandwich in Safeway. She was eating it while shopping and forgot to pay for it. The manager refused to let her pay for it after already paying for her groceries. The cops cuffed her and kept her child for the night. I think this is a bit harsh as well do many others. The family stopped shopping at all Safeways.
