In Prince Albert, Saskatchewan April Halkett 22 years old left her baby in a Wal-Mart washroom. On Wednesday April took three home pregnancy tests, which were all negative but she was feeling really ill that day. She didnt know she was pregnant and she went too the store really ill, she had to go to the washroom and she delivered the baby in the toilet and left it in the toilet. Not knowing if the baby was alive or not, he came out blue and not moving, so she thought the newborn was dead. Then later on another shopper went into the bathroom and she seen the baby in the toilet. With help from the paramedics, they came shortly after the shopper seen the baby and then the baby started breathing.
Four days later from security cameras they found out who April was, and at the time her boyfriend was away in Nunavut. They dont have costody of the newborn boy, but now she has given birth to another child that she is raising and now April wanted to get custody of her first child, that she gave birth too in the toilet. She is also expecting a third child and she has been found not guilty of child abandonment.
I think people need to stop abandoning babies and give them up for adoption or abortion.
