My spring break

Article posted April 4, 2011 at 07:57 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 467

I went skiing in Seatle at a place called snowqualmi where I went down some really steep hills. I also went to the museum of flight where I went in a simulator for steering a plane and another person controles the guns. I got a dog tag that says "GEORGE F GIBBY CAPTAIN" with a picture of a plane called hte Blackbird and I got a flatened penny of the Lightnig. I also went to a place called Pike Place Market it is 104 years old and at it I got to learn a magic trick and got a flatened penny of the space needle which I want to later and got a flatened quarter of it. And the last thing I did was go to the Seatle Aquarium.

Vocabulary story

Once I was venturing in the woods when suddenly I lost my favorite possession. It was my favorite dictionary. I could scarcely sleep without knowing it was there. I would scrutinize it for words and it would elucidate them for me. It was a very keen dictionary. The one’s I liked were not very plentiful. (rare) When I got home my mom was hiding something. What’s this? You got me another dictionary? Better than mine? Thanks!!

Book review: The Fast Lane by J.E. Bright

Article posted March 17, 2011 at 06:58 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 350

I have just been reading the book: The Fast Lane by J.E. Bright. In the book there are two racing teams. Team Fastex and Team Rexcor. Team Rexcor is a dirty team and one of their members was Lyle Owens. He use to work for Fastex but he was actually spying on them for Rexcor to find any weaknesses so they could win the race more easily. Now Fastex, the guy who owned Fastex (Jack Fassler) got a loan from Enormobank but when he came back there someone els had bought it. It was Rexcor. Now Jack built this new track because he and his daughter, Megan Fassler designed a new kind of racer. They called them the Unlimited series. They had all kinds of cool things. Here are the things I remember. A rescue racer (with a grappling hook if they need it) for if they crash and turbo booster (with wings if they need it). All in All I liked the book very much. It had lots of excitement in it. I would recommend this book to people who like excitement and did I mention close calls?

Frindle

Article posted February 7, 2011 at 06:59 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 537

I am writing a summary on the book frindle. In the book Nick a smart little boy who is always up to tricks. But when he gets into fifth grade he has met his match Ms.Granger. He comes up with an idea because Ms.Granger really likes the dictionary he asked her a question. In the end it turned out to be an oral repot. (extra homework) Then when Nick is walking home and comes up with an idea. He makes his own word and once it becomes very popular he becomes rich and if you want to read the rest of the story I think you should. It's a good one. (Thats why I left you hanging) I thought this was a good book because it had some funny parts some interesting parts etc. what I'm saying is that it has a lot of things someone likes except sports. I don't really know why but I think Andrew Clemants is a great author.

My weekly review

Article posted January 14, 2011 at 08:26 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 475

This week in math we did order of operations. When doing order of operations you do multiplication and division first then addition and subtraction second and don't forget that if you have more than one division or multiplication or addition or subtraction sentence do it left to right. In the historical part of school we were doing explorers. Specifically the english trip to Jamestown, Virginia. It was rather interesting. We were doing a volleyball session in Physical education. Otherwise it was just mostly one day stuff.
Thats just about it and just about the end.

Book review on Matilda by Roald Dhal

Article posted January 11, 2011 at 07:17 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 387

I have been reading a book called Matilda by Roald Dahl. In the book Matilda (the main character) has very mean parents and her father is a crook. He takes old used cars fills the engines with sawdust which makes them run well for a while gives them a new coat of paint and runs down the dial of how many miles it has driven so it looks new. Matilda is very smart, she toughed herself to read and write which led up to her being very smart. Her teacher, Miss. Honey noticed it and tried to move her up to a heir grade with the Head mistresses permission BUT the head mistress(Ms.Trunchbull) heard lies from her father that she was a brat. Later in the book The Trunchbull,(thats what they call her) came in. They soon they found out the Trunchbull was a wicked person. She was very strong because she won the gold meddle in throwing the hammer in the olympics. (Not really) She HATED children. she had this giant cubed filled with glass shards and nails in it so you had to stand perfectly straight. She threw children out the window. Those were the most common punishments. If you want to know what the rest of the story is about read it yourself. Leave me a comment about it.

Motorcycles

I have been reading a book about motorcycles called Super Bikes. My top three facts that I found most interesting were... The first motorized bicycle was built in 1869 by the Michaux brothers. Robbie Knievel's world record jump over the Grand Canyon suffering two broken ribs and a sprained ankle. The las fact is the biggest Harley Davidson motorbike which weighed about 5 tons 46 feet long and 28 feet high. If you want to find out more read it yourself and tell me your top three in a comment!

Do I have a story to tell you

Article posted January 2, 2011 at 01:40 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 603

Okay I had the craziest trip ever . So at the start our flights went like this. Chicago to Miami on American Airlines then from Miami to London on British Airways. Then we hit our first problem. The moving stairs would not start. Then after about half an hour they had managed to jump start the stairs. Then we got to he baggage claim which was our main problem. After about three hours our baggage still hadn't come and Dad told us that our baggage hadn't been transfered to the British Airways flight so it was still in Miami. Luckily our cousins had some hand-me-downs. Other than Christmas one of the interesting times was when I went sledding. You see my Grandma has an old fashioned sled so it weighed more so I went at least five miles per hour faster than everybody else because the hill was at least twice as long as the one at Techny. Did I forget to mention that the hill was also very steep which made it hard to climb up. On the way back to home you would not believe what happened then. Since we still had not got our baggage back they had sympathy for us and let us have a free upgrade in seating to new club world. It would have cost us another thirteen hundred dollars for that. So after we went through security we decided to take a look at the lounge. I must say it was prety cool. They had couches TVs and a dining area. They had free food. I had two bread rolls, two bags of chips, two cans of mini sodas and a clemintine. Once we had boarded taken off and got everything fully operational I was living the life. It had a divider screen, moving tray table, TV, foot rest, space, seat controls like seat down seat up etc, a drawer, better head phones, a kids activity bag, a grown-up bag, the club kitchen, a menu, and what they call the pantry. What it is, is for club world and new club wold a free for all small storage food space. I had four cans of mini sodas five candy bars and one bag of chips. Those were the interesting parts of my vacation and now you know why I'm only wearing three different pears of pants. Please leave me a comment and put your blog address of your blog in the URL spot so I can reply to your comment! I hope you will have or had a better vacation then me! Though I still don't think if you went on an airplane you would not get better seats then new club world. Though it would be nice if you did.

Infiltration

Article posted December 13, 2010 at 08:16 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 522

As soon as we got the ingreediants for delayed action mouse maker I snuck into the castle with as much mouse maker" I could carry. Then I spent quite a bit of time trying to find the kitchen then I hit the jackpot. A mouse hole. So it took me about two seconds to decide what to do next. Put my bottle of delayed action mouse maker there. BUT I soon found out who lived there and you wouldent believe who it was. It was... Bruno. Turns out his parents had kicked him out of the house and he had made his shelter here. He was still relitivly fat but that disn't stop me from putting the delayed action mouse maker in there. Then I went out got some more and more andmore of it until I finaly had enough. I crept around pouring it in everthing in the kitchen. As soon as I was finshed with that task I got Bruno and together we got out of there. Then we got the cats (because we were now world wide heros). So as soon as we started hearing squeks the cats charged. After that we got the book of magic spells and the book of whiches.

My thanksgiving break

Article posted November 29, 2010 at 07:49 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 560

During my thanksgiving break first we had a thanksgiving lunch with my grand parents and our cousins. Then the next day we set of in the car for a six hour drive to my Uncle Peter's cabin in northeastern Wisconsin. Once we got there we first unpacked Then their new puppy, Mingus who is eight months old but slightly bigger then their other dog Tibor who is about half the size of me and he's older then I am. So when Mingus first saw me he tried to run up to me but my Aunt Michelle was holding his collar until we were all in the room with the dog fence. Then I watched football and part of the Simpsons movie until my sisters were asleep so then we watched Iron Man 2. The next day we went sledding because in Wisconsin there was six inches of snow. Then we watched an hour or two of Spongebob. Then the next day we went sledding again watched some more football then I took Mingus for a walk but once I fell over once he took off. Then when I finally caught up to him he was at the sledding hill then before I could grab the leash he took of back to the cabin. By that time I was worn out from chasing him so then we played U-Build Monopoly and had hot chocolate. Then Aunt Michelle taught me and my dad how to play Yatzee. Then after dad knew how to play he wanted to play again and again. So eventually after two games I went into the dog room to watch some more football. Then when the girls got in the tub I took of sledding... again. Then in the evening after a lovely ham dinner we watched a movie called Zoolander. The guy who played Derek Zoolander had a funny accent. Then the next day we had a sledding trip but when we got back the girls were playing this game called Sorry. So then Aunt Michell made us (or the people who wanted it) hot chocolate. Then I tried to get them to play Monopoly or Life. But they didn't so it was back to the old T.V. screen. Then we said our goodbyes and left. After the first hour my baby sister Tess (who hasn't had much sleep lately) fell asleep after the first half an hour. You wouldn't believe it but she slept right through dinner. So me and Kate watched movies until we got back to our house. Then it was back to school. So thats what I did on my Thanksgiving. What did you do on yours?

Veterans Day

Article posted November 11, 2010 at 12:30 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 219

Today is Veterans Day. Today we honor the thousands of people who served in the military for our country. But they don't have to have gone in combat, like my aunt Lisa, she learned how to speak Chinese and she intercepted radio waves and translated them so they (meaning the military) knew what the Chinese where planing. Then there's my uncle Richie, he dropped bombs in Iraq in a fighter plane. The plane that he flew was called The Tornado. Except that he's not American. He's from the British side of the family.

Did anybody in your family serve in the military at one point? Tell about it.

Gems

Article posted November 8, 2010 at 08:16 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 576

Here are some gem facts.
There are five different shapes gems take. The most valuable gems are diamonds, emeralds, and rubies. Gems are formed in the mantle and brought to the surface by volcanic eruption. Minerals in stones or rocks do not form in a specific way when gems minerals are formed in a specific way caused by heat and pressure. Most gems have to be mined by hand or else the will be crushed to bits. When a miner finds a gem it is dull and boring. Then he gives it to a gem cutter who cuts them into a fancy design. There are five different ways to cut a gem. The two things that makes a gem valuable is how beautiful it is and how rare it is. Gems have bright and pure colors. Gems with dark marks or bubbles or both make a gem less valuable. One of the most famous diamonds is the hope diamond. A gem can only scrape one softer then itself. Diamonds are the hardest objects in the world. My last fact is that quarts is found all over the world in rainbow colors.
Can you find any more gem facts?
