Literary Elements

The Dangerous Days of Daniel X uses many different literary elements such as imagery, symbolism, irony, foreshadowing, medaphores, and others. The two elements I had noticed the most were imagery and symbolism.
The Book used imagery throughout the chapters to show feelings. It added mystery, danger, happiness, or glory. The book used imagery to add suspens as to the scene when his parents were killed and to show how majestic his planets beloved elephants were. It used descriptive language to add depth and help creat vivide images in your mind.
The book also uses Symbolism to add importance to some elements. For example the elephant is a symbol of wisdom and strangth for Daniel and the fact that he's a young boy defeating great evils stands for the daily struggles that teens go through everyday.
Along with these and many other elements, the book is very successful at conveying these important lessons.

The theme in The Dangerous Days of Daniel X is that life always have challanges but you have to learn how to roll with them. Even though Daniel had his parents taken from him at a very young age and he is always being persued by aliens and humans he keeps fighting. He learns everyday about different situations and how to deal with them. When Daniel feels like he can't go on anymore and he is about to give up he hears his mothers voice tell him "Daniel, you can do it. Out think them." When situations get to the point where you feel you can't go on just think of a different way to get around the problem.

The book The dangerous Days of Daniel X takes place in cities all over the Earth and other planets. The beginning of the book starts off with him traveling around the United States but after he tracks down alien Number 3 the setting changes to outer space. First he ends up on his home planet which is a desolate wasteland on the surface and a rickety slum underneath. But parts of the planet are still intact and are beautiful. Towards the end of the book the final battle is fought on Daniels home planet’s surface.
The book takes place in the modern 21st century and it spans over several years. Overall it is an interesting book which isn't confined to one setting and time.

Daniel X
Daniel X is thirteen years old in this book and he is energetic and fit. he travels alone most of the time because he has learned that to trust people unconditionally he opens himself up to danger. However he is able to create his friends though his imagination as one of his powers. They laugh along with him in low key parts of the book and fight alongside him during some battle scenes.
Daniels father taught him how to fight in many different ways and Daniel is a smart witty young man who can adequately use his brain just as well as he can use his body. His wit along with his blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes help him gain humans trust throughout the book. .
He's a helpless romantic who sometimes gets himself in trouble. but always in the end things worked out and he was the spunky alien hunter once again who is constantly saving the world.

I love reading, although my schedule doesn't always allow it. Many different types of books interest me but the mystic and magic genre captivated me more than any other. These types of book always keep my interest and always have some kind of twist and turn in every chapter. Though I do love to read other genres such as romance novels and suspensful mysteries, I was always drawn to the mystic and magic genre.
