Crate Books
The crate books are current, high interest paperbacks that were purchased with funds from a Narrangansett Number One Foundation grant. These crates of books circulate throughout the year among the fourth and fifth grade classrooms in our school district, MSAD#6. Students are keeping track of their reading with reading record logs. So far, our students are very enthusiastic about the crate books and are reading up a storm! This grant was written by the elementary librarians in MSAD#6, Laurie Dunlap, Sybil Shiland, Kris Zuidema. The grant was written to encourage our older elementary students to read, read, read.

Welcome to our blog. We finally have some student postings. We are working with two or three classes at a time as we learn how to blog. Eventually there will be about 30 fourth and fifth grade classes here discussing the crate books they have read. We'd like to see examples from other fourth and fifth grade classes who are blogging about books, so hope you would direct us to your blog. We'd also like to hear from any friends or parents who have visited our blog.
