I think the five important things we learned in the Holocaust unit were :

  1. The Gestapo were bad. They tortured and killed people who were against the Nazis.

  2. Hitler was bad. He killed a lot of people.

  3. 6 million jews were killed. They went to the gas chambers and some of them got shot.

  4. A Holocaust woman came to talk to us. She was hiding in Holland.

  5. The Nazis said, don't buy from jews. Their store window's got smashed.

Article posted November 16, 2009 at 05:47 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 767

Here are 5 important facts that I learned from the Holocaust

1.  About 6 million Jews, 1.5 million gypsies, 1.2 million kids, 250 000 mentally or physically disabled people, and Jehovah’s Witnesses, homosexuals, Social Democrats, Communists, partisans and other ''undesirables'' got killed during the Holocaust

2.  The Jews had to have their identification cards and they had to wear the star of david at all times or else they would get killed

3.  The Nazis killed the Jews in many ways like: Gas Vans, Work Camps, Death Camps (extermination camps), Concentration camps, Air Raids, by the S.S., S.A., And the Einsagruppen, and many died in Ghettos

4.  On the nazis flag was a Swastika, if the Swastika was Backwards or had no dots it would be unlucky

5.  On June 6th 1944, The Main Allied Power defeated the Nazis

These are the five most important things that I have learned about the Holocaust.

  1. I learned to enjoy and respect life. We are lucky that we don't have to suffer like the Jewish people during the Holocaust.

  2. Don't judge people because of their religion, colour...etc. Hitler thought that Jews were non-human, and decided to kill all Jews AND take over the world.

  3. Don't do what Hitler did to the Jewish. We learned from Hitler that trying to get rid of a whole religious group is NOT going to happen and, that the results are horrible.

  4. Millions of Jews were murdered because of Hitler. They were sent to concentration camps, death camps, gas chambers..etc.

  5. We are lucky that we have good food to eat, and that we can eat everyday. The Jews that were in the camps got little or even no food. Many of them had starved to death.

Five things I learned about the Holocaust are...

1. Jewish people had to live in ghetto's. Most people died of either starvation, disease or hypothirmia.

2. The Nazi's could take metal objects from people to make weapons. They could make tank piercers.

3. People had to have coupons to buy food. There wasn't much selection.

4. Jewish people would hide in other people's houses to hide from the Nazi's. They usually lived in a very small room.

5.Everyone needed ID cards to get around. Jewish people had a big black J on theirs.

mochachino g -- 5 important points to the Holocaust unit

Article posted November 16, 2009 at 05:47 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 817

Here are 5 points that I think is important to the Holocaust unit:

#1. Ghettos were a very dirty place to live in, very little food, bad conditions and small spaces to sleep in. The Ghettos were a walled up place and overcrowded area.

#2. Concentration camps, death camps ,work camps, etc. were the worst place you could ever imagine living in and working in. Nazis thought death camps were faster, less prsonal method to kill Jews, Gypsies and 'useless' people.

#3. Germans risk their lives to help Jews who are in hiding. Some of the Germans hid the Jews in their german factories, shops, etc; most of the Jews they hid survived.

#4.When a German rescuer dies, the Jews survivers that the German rescuer hid, goes to his/hers grave. When the Jews  are there, they put stones/rocks around the grave to show that they appreciate the German rescuer.

#5.In the end of World War 2, the Nazis had to pay more than a life time worth of money.Adolf Hitler killed himself because he didn't want to be arested.

jaguarpwnstiger j -- 5 Things I learned about the Holocaust

Article posted November 16, 2009 at 05:47 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 648

I learned a lot about the Holocaust, but these are the 5 most important things I learned.

  1. I learned about the pyramid of hate, how streotypes can lead to racism, then discrimination, violence, and finally genocide. A perfect example of this was the Holocaust, where the Nazis persecuted the Jews.

  2. I learned about how lucky, and how determined you had to be to survive when you were a Jew. You could die of so many things, hunger, disease, executed, exhaustion,....fortunately, some righteous gentiles helped the Jews, risking their own lives to help them.

  3. I learned how the Jews had to carry ID cards, and carry a star of david on their arm. The Nazis were very careful of who were Jews and who were Germans.(so that they could kill them)

  4. I learned that Hitler wasn't actually "volk". He didn't have blond hair or blue eyes. Maybe that was why he killed himself.

  5. I learned that not all Germans were with the Nazi's ideals. Some brave people hid Jews in their homes, risking their own families. These people were called "righteous gentiles".

lindy s -- The Holocaust

Article posted November 20, 2009 at 10:57 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 911

These are the five most important thing I have learned from the Holocaust:
.The first most important thing I learned was the feeling that the Jewish people had. World is not always fair for you, sometimes that is just becuase you are a diffrent people then the athers.
. The second most thing I've learned was that Hitler wasn't as good as I thought he was. At first, I think Hitler was very kind, he is very smart to think of the idea, but then, when I saw the picture of the death camp, I'm shocked.
.The third most improtant thing I learned was the jewish people that are still alive now was very lucky. It is hard to live in a place like the death camp.
.the forth most important thing I learned was some Germans that want to help some Jews get the same "price" as the Jews. Hittler will do that was beacuse then people(Germans) will be afriad to help the Jews anymore.
.The fifth most important thing I learned was THE WORLD IS NOT ALWAYS FAIR!

Here are the five most important things I learned in the Holocaust:

  1. I learned that I should accept each others, and not care about the way they look, or the way they are.

  2. Pyramid of Hate, 1. Prejudiced Attitudes/ Stereotypes.       2. Acts of Prejudice.         3. Discrimination.               4. Violence.            5. Genocide/ Mass Executions

  3. Levels of Discrimination

  4. I should be nice to everyone, so that one day, no one like Hitler would try to abuse me years later.

  5. I think it was really brave of the Jewish people to keep their pride and their culture, because they survived in that awful tortures. I think lots of cultures should respect that.

Here are the 5 most important things I have learned in the Holocaust unit.

  1. Not just Jews went to camps, but also gypsies and other "undesirables". They  were also killed.

  2. That stereotypes can be dangerous if you keep on using them.

  3. Hitler started making stereotypes about the Jews as an exuse to start war.

  4. That you should always know whatever people say about you, you should always know who you are and that you are on this planet for a reason, and that reason is not to think that you are not someone.

  5. That the majority of people who are sent to concentratiion camps die.

Here are the five most important things I learned about the Holocaust

  1. Jews were mass murdered in camps and ghettos. Children and elderly people were first to be killed because they were considered to be unuseful to the Nazis.

  2. In ghettos, people were killed because of starvation or disease. Some children were small enough to fit through holes or cracks in ghetto walls and smuggled food to keep from starving to death.

  3. If Jews were unuseful to Nazis they were stuffed into gas chambers to be killed. Gas chambers were the simplest ways to kill Jews.

  4. We should appreciate what we have instead of asking for more. Hidden Jews had nothing to do in the small places that they hid in.

  5. WWII started with stereotypes and prejudiced attitudes. Do't Judge people just because they are  different.

1. To learn from our (horrible) mistakes.....such as the HOLOCAUST......

2. To not hurt people in any way, because the're different.... Like the Nazi and the Jews.....

3. How the Nazi's mistreated the Jews.... For they have different religion.....

5. How steoreotypes can be really dangerous... It can lead to global extermination.....

..So...thats...it.. I guess.....
