Nory Ryans Song by Patricia Reilly Giff

What personality traits does the main character possess that help him/her to deal with the conflict(s) in the story?  Cite at least two examples from the story.

         You and your family are trying to survive the blight that attacked your potatoes, your sister: Maggie and her husband Francey left for America, your Da hasn't returned yet, and your Granda and sister Celia went to find Da.  This is what is happening to Nory Ryan in the book Nory Ryans Song, written by Patricia Reilly Giff.

                     Now Nory has a number of very crucial character traits for her, her little brother Patcheen, or Patch, and Anna's survival.  She is very brave girl.  The most crucial character trait for her survival is her braveness, without her braveness if do not know if she and the others would have been able to survive the blight.  The  braveness Nory Ryan possess' helps her to be able to go to Anna's and work for her to find out that Anna is not a scary lady at all, it also helped her to go and get the eggs every time she needed to, and also to actually take that bird that tried to get her alway from it's nest.  She also made the choice to have Patch go to America with Sean Red rather than herself.
