The conflict in Maggie’s Door is leading the characters to change because of the potato famine. The characters Sean, and Nory are on the way to America. They are both changing as they go. At the beginning Nory throw a biscuit to a big white bird. Now she is protecting her food like a dog protecting it’s puppies. Sean was protecting the cart from people like a bear protecting her cubs. Now he is leaving the cart with a rich Englishman to go get him a horse and food. In Maggie’s Door by Patricia Reilly Giff Nory, and Sean are changing due to the conflict.
