The book Holes by, Louis Sachar has many conflicts. In the beginning Stanley was blamed for taking a pair of shoes. Then Stanley had to go to “Camp Green Lake” and try to beat the heat. This book is similar to the book Bounce by, Natasha Friend. In this book there is this girl named Evyn. Evyn’s mother died when she was young. Evyn and her older brother was raised by her father. Then the father got remarried. Then Evyn her older brother and their dog moved in with her “stepmother”.That is how the book holes by Louis Sachar and the book Bounce by Natasha Friend.

Holes Conflict #2

The current conflict of the book Holes by Louis Sachar is Stanley Yelnats (main character) is blamed for taking shoes that belonged to Clyde Livingston. Clyde Livingston is a famous basketball player. Clyde was going to donate the shoes to help raise money for the homeless. Then he had to choose if he wanted to go to jail or camp green lake. I can relate to this because I got blamed for something I didn’t do and sometimes I would get in a lot of trouble, like Stanley Yelnats.

Alia's Mission

Article posted April 20, 2010 at 02:37 PM GMT • comment • Reads 158

In the book Alia’s Mission by Mark Alan Stamaty there is Alia, who is the main character, and she loves books. She would let anyone borrow then and helps them read and is a very kind, happy woman. The problem is that there is a war coming to town and Alia is very upset and worried and scared that the books will catch on fire so she takes them all and sneaks them to her house and hides them in her closet, but the war is getting closer and there are still lots more books to save and she is worrying more. So Alia is taking action and she asks some friends to help her. They take as much books to as she can for the night to her friend’s restaurant and keeps them there. When it was time to call it a night they all went home and planned to come back in the morning, but something horrible happened. The library caught on fire! Alia rushed there in the middle of the night, but when she gets there, there is no firefighters or anything. There it burns right to the ground. Alia is so upset and everything that she has a stroke. The conflict causes Alia to change because in the beginning she was a positive and hopeful person. She changes to a sad upset woman.

Flipped

The book that my group and I are reading is Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen. In the book Bryce moves to a town when he was 7 years old. Julianna lives across the street and she is obsessed with Bryce although he thinks she is weird. Bryce felt badly about throwing the eggs away for two years. Julianna gave the eggs to Bryce’s family for free while Mrs Stueby and Mrs. Helm’s payed two dollars a dozen. Bryce's family threw the eggs away because they were afraid of salmonella. They were afraid of salmonella on the eggs because of how distgusting their yard was but they could have washed the eggs salmonella is on the inside of the eggs. After the egg thing Julianna never talked to Bryce.

Flipped

The book that my group and I are reading is flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen. The point of view of the book is 1st person. It is 1st person because it goes from Bryce’s point of view to Juliana’s point of view.1st person point of view means, its who ever is speaking about what ever they think had happened. I know that the book is 1st person and not 3rd person because 3rd person means there’s a narrator telling the story. If the book was 3rd person then it wouldn’t be going back and forth from one person to the next. If it was 3rd person then we wouldn’t know how the characters feel about there side of the story.

Cut
Ashley Steele
The book I’m reading is Cut by Patricia McCormick. I can connect the book cut to Perfect by Natasha Friend. I can connect them because Callie and Isabelle both go to group therapy because of their problems. Callie’s problem was that she cut herself. Isabelle’s problem was that she was a bulimic. Callie and Isabelle never talked in group. A new girl came to Callie’s group and at first she sounded mean but she was really nice. She got Callie to in group. Isabelle talked when they asked her things. That is how the two books are connected

Lush

The book that my literature circle is reading is Lush by Natasha Friends. In the book I think that the father will get better. The person who Samantha was writing to I think it will be the librarian. The reason why I think that the father will get better because he is trying. He realized what he did to his son and that he would change forever. The reason why I think Samantha has been writing to I think it is the librarian because she cleans after everyone is gone.
