Blogging is Fun

Grades 3 and 4
I only got my feet wet last year with my students and blogging. I am looking forward to having my students communicate with others who are interested in blogging and in sharing their thoughts and ideas. Hi, I am back with some Grade 3 and 4 students this time and ready to have some fun blogging again.

We have been having a lot of fun reading Robert Munsch books in class. We also practised reading the books in pairs to each other and to the Grades K, 1 and 2 classes. It was fun to read with lots of expression. Now it is time to tell which Robert Munsch book was our favourite. Tell why it was your favourite and what part of the book you liked the best. Tell how this book connected to you in your life.

For the past two years our classroom has had the wonderful experience of learning with technology in the classroom. Every student has had his/her own tablet PC to use each day and have been able to take them home for homework. Tell us about what have been the advantages and disadvantages of learning this way. Also, if you had absolutely no problems with technology, what way would you prefer to learn --- paper and pencil or using computers? Tell me why?

The Grade 6 students of this class have had the opportunity to use tablet PC's on a daily basis and have technology integrated when learning curriculum for the last two years. Next year they will leave this classroom and not be able to take the tablets with them. Do you think this will make learning different again? What do you like about being able to learn in this wireless classroom and using computers? Do you think that every student should be able to have a laptop or tablet computer and why? What are the advantages to learning this way? Let's hear your opinion.

Mr. Sheehan and his class are from New Zealand. They are 10 and 11 year olds so they would be a perfect match for you. Check out what they are blogging about and ask what they do there in school that could be different than us (or the same for that matter.) Write a meaningful blog to someone there.
