We are a class of second graders!
There are so many things that bloggers can do: write articles; type things you've written on paper; send comments to give people ideas, make connections, or give compliments; look at the ClustrMap and see where our visitors come from; read comments people have made on our blogs; read Mrs. Shulman's articles; look at the bookshelf; visit different links like Dance Mat Typing and Free Rice; and visit blogs from other classes around the world.
Have fun blogging!

I wanted to congratulate everyone who had a chance to complete and present his or her country project. You all did such a marvelous job. I enjoyed learning so much about other places around the world.

It's been so long since I've had the chance to blog! I wanted to catch up and say hello to you all. I haven't written anything on my blog since I added Cutie the hamster. I do want you all to know that I have been enjoying what you have all been writing on your blogs. Keep on sharing your wonderful ideas!

I had a wonderful winter break by spending it with my family. First, we went to a water park in the Wisconsin Dells. Some of the water slides were quite scary. We also drove to West Lafayette, IN to Purdue University to see the Purdue Boilermakers play the University of Illinois Illini in a very close basketball game. The Illini won (Yeah!). The rest of the time, I spent it enjoying the company of more family and friends. I was sorry to see my winter break end.

If I had to choose between having the power of flying or being invisible, I would choose to fly. It would be so wonderful to be able to fly over rush hour traffic and skip all the slow moving roads. I also think it would be fun to fly with the geese in the v-formation that they make as they travel in a group. If I could pick another super power, it would be the special ability to snap my fingers and have a good, delicious dinner on my family's dinner table each night. I could skip the planning, the shopping and the cooking and have everyone comment how delicious my meals are!

Each year, my family has Thanksgiving at my house. I cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and salad. I think everyone's favorite part of the meal is the pumpkin pie for dessert. We usually have a small group of about ten people. When we're not eating, the kids are playing and the adults are chatting. Every once in a while, someone will turn on the TV to check out the score of a football game. If it's not too cold outside, the kids and some grown ups go outside to play football, too!

There are so many things I'm thankful for, it's difficult to name just three. But, I'll mention a few that are most important to me. The most important thing to me is my family. Mr. Ehlers and I are lucky to have two children. Secondly, I'm fortunate to live in our town. Our town is a wonderful place to go to school, to meet people and to do fun things. Last, I'm so lucky to be a teacher. Our class is full of such kind, hard-working second graders. I am very thankful!

If I could snap my fingers and go to any place I thought was magical, I would pick Hawaii. Many years ago I visited Hawaii and had a wonderful time. The weather was always warm and comfortable. I didn't need to wear a coat or gloves. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, with colorful flowers in bloom and sparkling waterfalls. I also loved the activities you can do in Hawaii. I went snorkling and rode a bicycle up a volcano. I would enjoy visiting Hawaii again.

My favorite season is summer. First, I enjoy summer vacation. I don't have to set my alarm clock early in the morning to go to school or to get my sons ready for school. Also, since summertime is warm, my family can go to the beach and play in the sand and water. Lastly, I can see a lot of baseball games. I love to watch my children play baseball during the summer. I look forward to summer all year long.

About the Blogger
Hello, Everyone. I'm a teacher's aide in Mrs. Shulman's wonderful second grade classroom. We have eighteen boys and girls who come to class eager to learn everyday. Our typical day includes math, reading, and social studies. Recently, we've been studying different countries around the world during social studies. Some students presented what they learned by making a poster, writing a book, and even preparing voice threads. We also have been learning a lot about new technology, like blogging. I look forward to learning about you!
