Finally, it was time for the night walk. Whaea Andrea told us the rules, then we all lined up outside ready for the night walk. I felt so excited because this was my first time ever going in the bush with a group of people. When everybody was in the bush and straddling the rope, the torches died down. The trees were swaying from side to side, silently in the whistling night. When we started to walk I heard people crying hard out. When we were half way, the front people started to scream. At that moment I knew something bad was going to happen. I finally got to the half way point. I was holding onto Kaira’s hand as hard as I could. Then suddenly a parent jumped out of the bush. I screamed the loudest that I had ever screamed before!
