Selamat Hari Raya Kemerdekaan!
Pada hari Minngu 17 Agustus, all over the country Indonesians will be celebrating Hari Kemerdekaan - their Independence Day!
On this day, there are formal flag ceremonies as well as lots of fun and games for children and adults. There are bike decorating and krupuk eating competitions. Indonesians decorate whatever they possibly can with Sang Merah Putih - the red and white flag of Indonesia! Indonesians are very proud of their country and this is a very special day.
It is an honour to be selected to march in a flag ceremony.
Another fun competition is the Panjat Pinang where prizes are placed at the top of a slippery pole!
Children enjoy the Lomba Makan Krupuk!

A few weeks ago we were lucky to have Ibu Ruth from Surabaya visit Koorana!
A number of classes enjoyed learning about Surabaya and participated in some fun activities...

Maaf Anak-anak!
It has been a few weeks since I wrote anything on my blog! So I will try and catch up this week!
I have been having a look at your class blogs and it is great to see so many classes now having their own blog! I am typing this using the new formatting that is available when you write your articles. This allows you to change colour/size/font without using html code! A great addition to Classblogmeister! But remember, it is what you write(and your spelling guys!!!) that is important not how it looks!
Go and have a go and writing an article with the new function... when you go into Articles above the text box there is Text / [Graphical (wysiwyg)]
Click on Graphical and away you go!!!

Hai!
I thought I would share some photos with you from my holiday...
These are from a trip we took to the mountains...
Yesterday we went to Bali Safari and Marine Park which was awesome! The highlight of the day was getting to have my photo taken with an orangutan!
It was so special and I will put a photo on here soon! I can't believe how their hands feel like human hands!

Ibu Brophy has been teaching Indonesian at Koorana for over 8 years! She loves teaching languages and also getting to Indonesia as much as possible to practice her own Indonesian!
