We have been learning how to form the maori pattern used in art called the koru. We learn't that the traditional colours to use were Black, Red and White. Here we are putting our ideas onto a piece of art work to share with all that visit our learning space.

We visited the Rotorua Museum in Week 2 to see the interactive exhibit called Tickle my senses. We explored how we can appreciate art by using the 5 senses we have. This got us thinking lot's about learning from Term 2. Take a look at our pictures of creating with clay by being blindfolded!

Zakumi arrived today in his parcel all the way from South Africa!
The children in Room 2 at Rotokawa School were so excited when we got the parcel in the mail today. Before we opened it, we brainstormed what we thought may be inside.
Stickers, lollies, our travel buddy and a diary were what we thought of.
What a surprise it was to open the bag and find this bright green and yellow buddy inside!
We thought that he might be a cheetah, a leppard, a lion/leppard or a springbok.
The diary that came with Zakumi will tell us more...
