This is my Chimp Art!

We have been studying endangered and exotic animals, so we decided to draw a chimp as it symbolises endangered animals as it is endangered itself.

SCARECROW

Article posted June 22, 2010 at 10:37 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 252

Sally, Ethan and Ben had been longing for the trip to Otago. As mum and dad pulled up into the petal fallen driveway Sally, Ethan and Ben gazed drop mouthed as the most amazing view of a cottage came into sight. Their eyes skimmed around the countryside in amazement. Then something caught Sally’s eye, there in the middle of a lush grass paddock, was a scary pale lifelike scarecrow languishing in the paddock.
Mum and dad pulled up into the clean, shiny metal shed. Sally hopped out of the car and inhaled in a deep breath of the fresh clean air of the countryside. Ben and Ethan jumped out of the car and started unpacking. “Sally,” said mum, “you’re the oldest, why don’t you go take your little brother and Ethan inside and choose the beds.” Sally picked up Ben and walked into the house with Ethan following. The house had a musty, cold smell like a castle that had been shut up for a long time. But somehow it felt like home. That cottage had a lot of warm happy memories in it. Ethan and Ben ran up the wooden stairs cautiously. So that left Sally with the master bedroom or the small downstairs bedroom. Sally thought about mum and dad unpacking outside. “Alright,” said Sally under her breath. “I’ll give the master bedroom to mum and dad.” She stumbled along the outdated, ancient, decayed bedroom.
The next morning Ethan, Ben, mum and dad went out to get some pine fresh air. Sally wanted to stay in and get some breakfast. She was in the mouldy, cold kitchen delicately pouring herself some hot green tea when the phone began to clamorously rings. Sally picked it up and said, “Hello.” Nobody answered. All she could hear was obscure breathing. Sally hung up. She started to feel scared as if someone was watching her. She shakily turned on the TV. It mysteriously doesn’t work properly so she turns it back off. There’s a turbulent knock on the door. She looks out the kitchen window, nobody is there. Sally is starting to feel very abnormal. Sally went back onto the kitchen and began to sip her tea quietly. Sally looked out the window, the scarecrow was gone. The crows were ferociously eating the plants. Sally was getting very scared now.
Frightened, intimidated, terrified sally frantically tried to call her mum. She heard it ring in the faint distance, in her mum and dad’s room. Sally sprints rapidly to her mum and dad’s bedroom. The alarming scarecrow is standing looking through the crystal diamond window, staring at Sally with its beady, startling eyes. Sally is panic stricken. The phone rings again. Sally answers it. All she can hear is hysterical laughing. Sally dropped the phone.

Had Jack won a million Dollars?

Article posted December 1, 2009 at 09:22 AM GMT0 • comment (2) • Reads 355

Maria and I were urging Jack to go faster. Just as we told him to speed up, he came rushing overhead of us. At first I didn’t know it was him, because he was a blur of colour bursting with speed. He was nearly at the end of the flying fox now and in the distance me and Maria heard happy, joyful shouts from the blur that was Jack. Then suddenly, I lost sight of Jack flying through the air. What had happened? Had something gone wrong? We were unsure. Then at that very second a smiling boy came running out into the clearing. He looked like he had just won a million dollars. With the look on his face we were sure that he had won the money. He ran up to us and handed me the tangled, scuffed up harness. I felt nervous and excited at the same time. What would it feel like to be flying I wonder...?
