Have you ever been through stressful times that are so frustrating that you poured acid on your hands and burned them? Well that’s what the case is for Henry Box Brown. Henry is a slave man who works for people in the south of America. Going through hard times and losing his family, he finally finds a way to claim his freedom to the north on March 30, 1849. Want to find out how? Read this wonderful book to find out!
Our favorite character is Henry because he is a brave person and because he is the main character. We also like Henry’s friend James because he’s willing to let Henry have freedom instead of him. He also told Henry important things that Henry would want to know.
We think that people from ages 7 and up should read this book because it would probably be easier to understand and easier to think about how it was “back in the day” to be thankful for what they have.

My name is Kikihula.
I like to play:
• Tennis
• Tag
• Games w/ animals and made up people
• w/ friends
• outside to be free
I like to play w/ my dog. I have 3 people in my intermediate family.
I love to:
• dance
• sing
• play
• Basically, have fun!
My favorite color is lime green.
I love to be at the beach and the mountains.
I think art is my specialty then music second.
I don’t really care for P.E.
To me, shopping is a lot of fun. That’s my specialty too.
I used to have a water frog and a fish. Now, I have a Great Dane. Her name is Greta. She is one of my best friends.
I have always wanted to be a beautiful hula dancer and dance at an exotic, tropical luau when I grow up. I’d even do it right now!
My teacher is totally:
(a) awesome
(b) fun
(c) hilarious
(d) out of this world!
My favorite season used to be winter, but now, it’s summer.
That’s basically all I have to tell you of the stuff about me!
