My Mission Statement Speech

My speech for the Mission Statement award is:
"You might think that I'm going to start like any other speech but I won’t. I’m not going to tell you good morning. I’m not going to tell you my name is Fadi K. All I’m going to tell you is why I was chosen as a Mission Statement Candidate.
I learned 4 things here that are important to me.
I learned how to be respectful by applying it, and then it gave me that good feeling that you get every time you do something good, so it became a habit of mine.
I learned to be responsible by having homework and our teachers expected us to bring them back done.
I learned to be tolerant from a book called "Freedom Walkers” that talks about how people behaved to people with darker skin color.
I learned to be self-disciplined by having our teachers trust us.
So this school highlights the importance of character education.
To be brief, this school is amazing.

Mars

The Romans called Mars after their god of war because of its red color. It has two moons and the average temperature is 63°C. Mars is about 4.6 years old. A Martian day is 24 hours, 39 minutes, 35 seconds long.
Its color is red because of the large amounts of iron in its soil. Mars is about 228 million kilometers away from the sun and it is the fourth planet from the sun. Mars surface has craters, mountains, volcanoes, plains and valley. Its diameter is 6,794 kilometers. Mars is an inner planet. People thought there was water on Mars, but after research they discovered that there isn't any water. It has two moons.
The top part of Mars is frozen carbon dioxide water. The upper middle part of Mars is dark streaks across the surface areas of wind erosion. Middle is condensation clouds in the atmosphere. The lower middle part is dry iron and rocky. The lowest part is frozen carbon dioxide and water. Mars has the largest valley and mountain in the world .

Pneumonia

Pneumonia is a type of disease that hits your lungs.
SYMPTOMS:
Fever and chills
Chest pain, cough,and rapid breathing
Vomiting and abdominal pain
Loss of appetite
Decreased activities
TYPES:
Bronchial Pneumonia effects the Bronchioles.
Lobar Pneumonia is when the lobe gets infected.
Interstitial Pneumonia chiefly effects the interstitial.
IS IT CONTAGIOUS?
The only way for Pneumonia to be contagious is if the bacteria or virus that caused that infection gets to another person.
HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOU?
With Bacterial Pneumonia a kid might feel sick suddenly and often has a high fever with chills. The viral kind of Pneumonia might happen more slowly and take longer to go away.
IS IT CURABLE?
Some shots can prevent Pneumococcal Pneumonia. If Pneumonia is caused by bacteria doctors get Antibiotics.

When you are counting objects, you go "0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D...".
When asked about a bus schedule, you wonder if it is 16 or 32 bits.
When your mom says "If you don't turn off that darn machine and go to bed, then I am going to ground you in your room you!"
When you are reading a book and look for the space bar to get to the next page.
When after fooling around all day with routers etc, you pick up the phone and start dialing an IP number.
When you get in the elevator and double-press the button for the floor you want.
When not only do you check your email more often than your paper mail, but you remember your network address faster than your postal one.

Yesterday,I went to my original city to spend the night there. It was so much fun that I wanted to stay there till the end of the holiday, but my mom said maybe well sleep there another time. Now, I am bored here in Beirut with people doing construction right next to my room; I think my head will blowup.
By the way, if any of you know were I slept don't hesitate to answer.
(I already know).

I may be the only one who likes Field Day, though if you are a fifth grader I don't know why you would hate it, becuase then you would be the group leader(maybe).

Long time ago there was a king of Sumer called Fadish. He was a fair and funny ruler. This is the story of “The King and the Tourist “ and this is how it goes.
“Next!! Just kidding. I’ll think about it,” said King Fadish. Then in came the tourist. He said, “Hello, you almighty ruler”. Can you take me on a tour around your beautiful city-state?“
”For sure, what’s your name?” Asked Fadish.
"It's Jadish,” he replied.
So King Fadish and Jadish went to start the tour around Babylon. First, Fadish took him to the most beautiful place in Babylon, The Hanging Gardens in Babylon. “It's beautiful," said Jadish. "Hold your horses, we’re still in the wheeled cart”, exclaimed Fadish. When they got there, Jadish couldn’t keep himself from making a scene. He even jumped on the floor on which the plants grew in. After that he took Jadish to the shops. “I want you to meet Shadish the best selling merchant,” said Fadish.
“Pleased to meet you (he wasn’t).” Then as Jadish was turning around, he hit his head on a metal pole that was carried to the metal worker.
Half an hour later Jad found himself on the wheeled cart that was heading to the fields. When he got up, he was standing barefoot in the crops. Fadish said “What’s wrong with you standing on our crops, now they’re yours?”
“Now come on, so I can show you the houses,” shouted Fadish. When they got there, Jadish was confused why some of the houses were square and some rectangle. After a while of thinking and drinking they moved back in the castle. “But wait, I still didn’t show you a ziggurat”. So they went to their last stop. “Now that’s huge” (seven stories might not be huge for you but it is for them) screamed Jadish. “That it” said Fadish. ”Now you better be going I hear a bomb coming right at us,” said Fadish, in an exclamation voice.
That’s the story of “The King And The Tourist”.

Charlotte was a girl that lived without her parents in the 18 hundreds. Her parents died in a stage accident. She was stuck working in an orphanage. She had a horse called Freedom and a best friend called Hayward; she also had a friend called Vern. Her life in the orphanage was unfavorable so she plotted a runaway. She cut her hair so no one would know that it’s her, so they would think she’s a boy.
She ran away and started working in a stable for a guy called Ebineezer. One day she was getting ready to drive the stage when she saw Mr.Milkshark (the orphanage keeper) riding on the stage. She got her revenge on him by tricking and taking his new shoes and giving them to Ebineezer.
She stayed working there until she was 18, then she got a job offer in California, and she took it. She went to California and it was crowded with people from the Gold Rush. Then one day a wild horse kicked her right eye and she lost the sight in it. It took her sometime to drive again but she was determined to do it and she did. After she had enough money to buy a house or land like she and Hayword always dreamt of, she bought one, but later she realized that the dream isn’t done without Hayword.
One day Hayword visited her in her house. Charlotte (Charley) told him that she entered in the election. Then Hayword told her that Vern had died. Charlotte was surprised. The next day Charlotte went to vote.
Later, Charlotte got two new horses. She called the girl Freedom and the boy Vern’s Thunder.

When my dad and I went in the car he asked me what time was it so I told him 7:15. He turned on the car and we went out of the parking lot, but there was another car blocking our way so my dad beeped 3 times and skipped behind him.
When we were next to the Manara, I started to have a feeling I never had in a year. I was nervous and unhappy. I was scared; I didn't want to go to school, but it was too late. My dad already got to the bus gate. I looked outside and I saw some of my friends and that gave me some confidence seeing my friends after 3 months.

It was a hot Thursday morning when I woke up and found 9 boxes stacked in a pile. I thought that my mom was cleaning the basement but then I remembered we were moving to Beirut. When I got out of bed I saw Mom already dressed up. So I said, "Mom, why are you already dressed?"
"Because we're leaving in two hours”, she answered.
"TWO HOURS", I screamed from the top of my lungs.
So I hurried and packed just in time. On the way I noticed that there were a lot billboards. When I got to my new home in Beirut I immediately ran to the middle room and said, "This is my room”. Since the truck took two hours to come I decided to have a walk and see all the houses before the furniture came. When all the furniture came and was put in my room I decided to start unpacking my clothes. After I was done my mom said to go to sleep already because it is 10:30p.m.
So that was the day I moved

I Love to Read Week is approaching and I can't wait. Most of you might say oh no because your parents don't let you play. The same thing happens to me, but all I do is open a book and start reading. You might not like reading though. I think it's another way to have fun.

Faqra was a delightful trip. We had lots of fun, but the main objective of that trip was skiing and that's why we spend most of our time skiing. Although the shoes are tight, if you actually try to like it you would. The first time I started skiing I hated it. Now I think that it's fun.

I was born on November 29, 1996 in a city in Lebanon called Sidon(Saida). My family is made up of my mom, my dad, and my two sistera. My dad's name is Reda and my mom's is Samar. My sisters are Roua and Nadine. My hobby and favorite sport is soccer. My favorite food is hamburger and pizza. In Sidon I attended RHHS till age 7. In the summer of 2005 I moved to Beirut. There I am attending ACS. I'm living in Hamra, Beirut.

One of a Kind BBQ

One day my mom got a call and we got invited to my Grandma's BBQ in her garden. So the next day we went to Saida and went to the BBQ and saw my relatives playing and cooking and planning everything. So my mom went to help while I went to my cousins, then we took our bicycles to the top of the hill and rode it down the hill. I went so fast that when I stopped I left a trail from the tires. Then, we started playing soccer after we got yelled at. Then my cousin wanted to go up to his house and play PlayStation. Then my mom said "Come on we are going to eat". So we raced down the stairs and sat at the table. We ate and ate and ate till we couldn't get up. When we finally got up we sat on the swings and just talked. Half an hour later my mom said that we have to go. So I said goodbye and went home.

One day, I woke up so excited because it was Aid El Adha. When I got up I saw a present on my desk. I ripped it open and saw the game that I wanted(Fifa 2006). Then I started getting ready to go to Sidon. When we were done we headed to Sidon. While we were in the car, I played on my new game on my Gameboy. When we got there my cousins were waiting for me. We played on the Playstation2 then Football. After that we started eating turkey (a tradition in my family). When we finished, it was time to light the fireworks, so my cousin and I lit the fireworks.
It was a night to remember my
family and me.

Night in the Forest

AH! AH! A sound came from somewhere in the forest. I heard it because my family and I were camping tonight. Back in the forest I heard a creepy noise. So I woke up and followed the noise. Every footstep I took the sound got higher. Finally, I came to a cave. For a second the sound stopped and all I was able to hear was the sound of my heart going Bom! Boom! So fast. Then a sudden movement happened so I pointed my flashlight at the cave but I saw nothing from the fog. Then a pair of eyes looked at me and roared and unfurtanly the bear started coming after me. I ran so fast that I couldn’t stop. When I went to my tent I shouted ‘RUN AWAY’. Now the bear was chasing all my family .I was out of breath and I tripped over a rock the bear was catching up to me so I got up and ran. The bear was so close that I can hear his footstep then the bear scratched me so I ran even faster but limping . I saw my family in the car with the door open so I jumped as fast as I can. I managed to get in the car. Then my dad drove the car without me closing the door yet. Fortunly we made it out of the forest.
That night I will never forget.

About the Blogger
I am 11 years old and in 5C. My favorite show is Scrubs. I was born in 1996 and for some reason I am still in fifth grade. I've been living in Beirut since 2005, which is 3 years. I used to live in Saida and I still go there every week. I miss living there and the worse part is that all my relatives live there, and I barely see them.
