I AM FROM
I am from a land with no president; I am from a country that wishes it could be free. I am from a family tree that is overflowing with incredibly amazing people, from a father who works extremely hard to do everything he possibly can to support and help his family. I am from a mother who spends every moment of her life caring, nurturing, and loving her family. I am from siblings who I always fight with but agree about important things with. I am from a school that makes sure I succeed in all my academic subjects, from a class that cares about me and anything I might need help with, from a teacher who considers her students her own children, and cares about them almost as much, from classmates I’ve shared precious moments and memories I will never forget with, from close friends who care about me, and laugh with me, never at me. I am from a best friend who still keeps in touch with me, even though I’ve moved schools. I am from goals I will do anything to achieve. I am from a bedroom that has all my heart's desires in it, from a kitchen that has good things like fries and bad things like “loubieh” (the only Lebanese food that to me, is inedible). I am from a TV room that constantly has me and my sister snacking on chips and watching “Grey’s Anatomy” in it. I am from a refrigerator that miraculously always has ice cream in it! I am from movies that I’ve seen a 100 times at the least. I am from books of every genre, cover, author, and illustrator. Lastly, I am from an Ipod that, unlike the others, doesn’t hold the top 40 songs, but old songs, from ABBA, the Beach Boys and the king of rock, Elvis….. Where are YOU from?

My name is Maryam and I'm ten years old. I was born on June 2nd, 1997. I have a family of five people (if you are adding me). There's my amazing mother, Marya, my outstanding father and my older brothers and sisters- Dyala and Hussein. My favorite colors are lavender and pink- all kinds; hot pink, light pink, EVERYTHING! My favorite food is French fries. I'm going to be honest and to say the truth: I really, really, really, really, really, REALLY like being the center of attention! My hobbies are: reading, writing, shopping, laughing, chatting, reading, watching movies, listening to music, talking on the phone, gossiping, reading, spending time with my family, reading, reading, reading, and oh! READING!! I want to be a reviewer when I grow up and read/ watch movies or books then write reviews about them in the newspaper. Then I would be able to do three of my favorite things; read, watch movies, and write!
