If Only They Could Speak!
Oh no! Somebody stepped on me again! They got mud all over my face! It’s always the same routine: Step, wipe, and enter the house. The next door's cat always thinks I’m a stretching machine, and pricks her claws all over me.
It’s like a punishment! I didn’t do anything wrong. I don’t deserve this! Just because I’m a doormat, it doesn’t mean that I’m different. It just means that I look different! My owners have visitors throughout the day. Which is good, I get to relax all night! Why don’t the owners of the house care about me? They let dirt, and mud spread all over my face! The only thing I hear all day is: “Wipe your shoes on the doormat!” and “If you don’t clean your shoes on the doormat you will be punished!” The same things every single day. Everyday I’m getting itchier, and dirtier. Don’t the owners care if they have a dirty doormat? I wish they would just rinse me off with water, and I would be as good as new.
Something I learnt in the past years is that life has its ups and its downs. Even though I’m complaining I know that everything will be okay, and I know and I know that it’s hard to be a doormat, but it’s not TERRIBLE. Okay I lied, it is terrible. But at least I’m alive. To tell you the truth, I feel sorrier for the toilet seat than myself.
So always remember, think of others, and always be thankful for what you have.
