Our class made claymation animated movies this year to study character, plot, setting, and sequencing. We also learned how to work in cooperative groups.

Each child wrote a quick sentence or two about what they liked about the movies - check it out!

Look on the left side of this page for links so that you can watch our movies!

My first graders from this year have published their very first stories on the blog! Check them out!

The assignment was to write about an animal, using a web (graphic organizer) for the first time. The results are awesome!

Enjoy!

Make sure you scroll down to this years class. I didn't have the heart to delete last year yet.

Today is Wednesday, June 7, 2006. It was a Day 3 and we had Health for our special. We have been in school for 166 days. In Phonics, we learned about when the a makes the short o sound, like in the word wallet. Today we had free time after lunch, until we had to go to Health. In Health, we watched “The Puzzle Place” and learned about bullying. We went to writing early today. We have 11 days left of school! In Math, we learned about solid figures, like sphere, pyramid, cone, cube, rectangular prism, and a cylinder. We had a super great day!

Today is Tuesday, June 6, 2006. It was a Day 2 and we had Gym for our special. We have been in school for 165 days. In Gym, we went outside and played kickball. For lunch, we had cheeseburgers or chicken patty. Korbin shaved his head again! Mrs. Corron thinks he must be a lot cooler now! In Phonics, we learned combination wh with the keyword whale. Today a high school girl named Laura came in to teach us Spanish. She taught us the days of the week. She gave us a really hard word search and if we hand it in on Thursday, we’ll get a surprise. Today we went outside to wish the Girls Softball team good luck in their game tonight. Mrs. Klock’s van says “Good luck to the Red Knights!” It was a good day!

Today is Monday, June 5, 2006. It was a Day 1 and we had Art and Library for our specials. We have been in school for 164 days. In Library, we went outside and we played with play dough. In Phonics, we learned digraph ie – which can make the long i sound (like in pie) or the long e sound (like in shield). In Art, we painted tissue paper and under that paper it looked like spray paint. It was messy and sometimes it ripped. It is almost the end of the school year! We are going to work hard for the next 2 weeks, and then we will do fun things on the last 3 days! We had a great day!
