My letter to a made up Mayor

Article posted March 19, 2009 at 10:20 PM GMT • comment • Reads 1124

Dear, Mayor,
I have a complaint about the construction going on in Candy Cane Park. The seniors yell and complain because me and my friends like to skate on the sidewalk and the little kids and parents are always in our way and it’s getting out of control. You have to make a decision before someone gets killed. I’m begging you to restore the park back to the way it was.

Sincerely,
Mini Mouse The Marshmallow Martian Named Martin (AKA Shmarshall)

So now I can sing my song.

Winter ( aka My Wrighting assinment )

Winter is my favorite time of year because you get to have snow ball fights with friends and build snowmen with your family. It’s also a season for giving and when I walk outside the wind bites at my face, the snow sparkles and the sound of kids laughing. It what makes me happy in the morning. The snow is cold on my hands as I make a snow ball but my sister tells me that the snow tastes like water. As far as I know water doesn’t have a taste.

My Sandwich has bacon, ham, corn beef, pickles and black olives. It smells so good with all the different meat. It tastes even better because of everything that was put in it. It sounds like your walking on leaves when you take a bite. It tastes crunchy from the pickles and black olives yet smooth from the meat. It is so good I can’t really describe it you’ll have to go to SUBWAY and get one to see what I mean Trust me it’s really good.

Dear mom I did great on my report card, the reason why i have assinments missing is because me and my friends were bored so we set our work on fire. I know now that wwe shouldn't have done that but the teacher was making us mad it's not our fault. He wouldn't stop giving us homework and yelling at everyone for no reason. So a whole bunch of us burned our work at a bonfire, everyone in the class took there home work and never did it!! Sorry because well i was bored that night and he made me mad plus i loved to watch them burn.
P.S please don't make me leave

I’m thankful for my friends Keiza, Julia, Mikhayla for making my day a whole lot better when I’m feeling sad or down and my family for being there when I need them. I’m also thankful for Stephenie Meyer because with out her twilight series I wouldn’t be reading that much and I also wouldn’t get to enjoy a really good book. That’s what I’m thankful for.

my island fox report

The Island fox is an endangered animal it only lives on the channle islands the population has decrease over the last few years. This is a baby island fox!!An island fox only weighs 3-6lbs but stands it's ground to protect it's territory.Go To http://www.islandfox.org/ and watch the video of an island fox protecting it's territory. The Island Fox was nearly extinct from Golden Eagles, parasites and disease. So in order to know more about them call and ask friends of the island fox if they can come to your school or community group so we can learn more about how we can help save the island fox!! From 1993 to 1999 the National Park Service montiord the population of the fox on San Miguel Ever summer foxes were caught and tagged. With a number so the scientists could moniter each fox individualy. The park Biologists estimated that in 1994 there were over 400 island foxes on San Miguel but by 1995 an alarming decline had begun. With each passing year fewer foxes were trapped in the monitoring grids. At the same time park rangers and visitors reported seeing less live foxes and more fox skeletons and carcasses. By 1998 San Miguel had only a few dozen. The National Park Services Biologists were looking for answers so in the fall of 1998. The biologists intiated a radio telemetry study of island foxes on San Miguel to determin causes of morality. The biologists tracked 15 radiocollared foxes from 1998-1999 5 were believed to be killed from golden eagles and 2 died from other causes.

The Reasons Why Earth Is Dying

Article posted May 1, 2008 at 06:30 PM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 425

The problems facing the earth are to much garbage which is causing Global Warming and less Air Quality by humans polluting and dumping garbage in to the Oceans we’re killing all the seas and the fish which provide us with food people think that because the oceans are so big it won’t matter if we dump garbage in to the sea. News flash it does and we kill all the animals in the sea as well like Dolphins, Grey Whales, salmon and other fish we love. We are also wasting our recourses like paper, trees for buildings, fish from the oceans stuff like that is what we need to improve so we have lots of it left and we still have earth we need to stop littering, recycle, reduce, reuse, stuff like that or we might not have the planet earth in the future!

My Iditarod Essay

Article posted April 4, 2008 at 08:54 PM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 401

Hey I found the perfect place for a vacation we can go watch the Iditarod I have 10 really good reasons why we should go there instead of some boring museum.

10-I hate museums
9- It looks like fun
8- Its not Disney land
7- It can teach me everything like history, geography, weather, distance, and rubrics
6-it will teach me how to take care of dogs
5- It will make a great vacation
4-it’s going to be really fun
3- Its going to teach me how to take care of my self in the wilderness
2- It will be great it’s far away
1-and its educational (did I say that already?)

That’s why I think we should go and I did some research on it and here’s what I got.

The Iditarod is a race from Nenana to Nome here’s a time line.

1900-1940- mail hauled by dog sled
1925-Serum run (Nenana-Nome) 647 miles
1946- The fur rendezvous world championship dog sled race 25 miles a day for several days
1946-The open North American dog sled race
1967-Two short races
1972- Sled racing Alaska state sport
1973- First race to Nome

The first race wasn’t a race at all in fact it was a race against time a dog team had to race to Nome for the children of Nenana because the were getting sick on the way back from the trip they got lost. But thankfully a dog named Bolto helped them get back just in time so most of the children were saved and here’s another little clip to tell more about it.

. In 1925 Nome needed medicine for the children because almost all children had a disease called diphtheria. Diphtheria is a deathly disease the symptoms are coughing and fevers. At first they tried to send it by ship but the ship got caught in the ice and couldn’t get though so they tried sending it by plane. The plane was grounded because of the storm and so the train was there last hope so when the train got to Nenanan the team of dogs were waiting for the medicine. On there way back the storm got them lost. So a dog by the name of Balto when to find them on his own when he found them he led them back home and got the medicine there just in time for the children.

Well I hate the idea of everyone dressing the same. We express the way we are by the way we dress. If everyone dressed the same we’d all be the same no one would have there own style and they couldn’t express the way they are. If you take that away we have nothing who are we if we are all the same because we wouldn’t be ourselves. If we wore the same clothes we wouldn’t know who is who it would be so confusing!!

The Idtiarod

Article posted March 13, 2008 at 09:00 PM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 305

I’d love to go visit Alaska because it sounds like a great place to visit. I think it would be so cool if I could be a musher and be able to go on a sled pulled by sled dogs. If you ask me it would be really cool even if I froze my fingers or my toes. On the Iditarod the weather was 40 degrease Celsius. Which is very cold. There is lots of deep snow you have to watch out for if the snow is too deep and to soft the dogs will have a harder time getting through the snow. You have to go around and though mountain passes. You also have to make sure you have enough food for the dogs because at the rate the dogs run the need all the protean they can get.
Every year more than 20 dog teams race from Anchorage to Nome. The race is called the Iditarod. 1946-The open North American dog sled race
1967-Two short races
1972- Sled racing Alaska state sport
1973- First race to Nome
And now here’s a poem!!

Well I hope you learned something reading my little story type thing and one of the reasons I would love to visit Alaska is because I think it would be so much fun to go visit another state because it’s just a little bit more of the world I’d get to see!!

Wishes

Article posted January 18, 2008 at 04:04 PM GMT • comment (1) • Reads 211

Well my first wish is to have a cell phone. For my second wish I would like to spend more time with my sister. For my last wish I would like to visit my grandparents in B.C. The reason I want a cell phone is so I can text my friend Morgan.B. We used to talk all the time now that I no longer have long distance calling. So the only way we can talk is for me to walk over to my grandparent’s house just to use long distance. Or I have to talk when she’s online. Which is very rarely. So that is why I want a cell phone.

The reason I’d like for my sister to come down and visit more often because I can next to never see her accept when my dad comes down so she can spent time with him. I no that she’d like to spend some time with our dad to but it would be nice to visit with her more often to you know.

The reason I’d like to visit my grandparents up in Terrace B.C because it’s the most beautiful place on the planet and I love it there when I’m in their back yard I can see a mountain and the hot springs are awesome.
The reason why I picked these 3 wishes is because there the things I want most in the world and as you can see there all for good reasons why I want what I asked for.

The great wall of china was built to help keep out the huns but they ended up climbing the wall and tried to take over anyways.Did you know that the great wall of china was built 2500 years a go.

Qin also made the Terra Cotta Army. The Terra Cotta Army is thousands of life sized soldiers and horses. They were made from ten different designs. The pottery was hollow, not solid. How cool is that? I never thought I could find out so much about China.

Somehow I ended up on the other side of it, but anyway, my little sister wouldn’t listen to me and go get help she ran home instead of going into the school or a house a cross the street. We had to wait for two hours just so the doctor could tell me to take some aspirin. I might be a bit sore tomorrow.

Oak Island

Some people say X marks the spot for buiried treasure. The thing is not all pirates mark their treasure with an X some might leave a message hanging from a tree or leave something behind like a trail.

I read in a book that 3 boys found a message hanging from a tree and tried to dig it up sounds good right accept each time they got closer the hole would fill up with water. So they tried and tried but never succeded. In 1811 the 3 boys found a strange rock like thing with strange marking I think the markings were the pirates warning.

So do you think anyone will find that treasure I do?The question is do you think anyone will?Do you think Oak Island really has treasure no one really no for sure.

There are seven wonders of the world they are:

Paricutin Volcano
Great Barrier Reef
Mount Everest
Grand Canyon
Victoria Falls
Northern Lights
Harbor at Rio de Janeiro

I picked the Northern Lights also known as the Aurora Borealis. I picked the Northern Lights because I thought that I could find some interesting facts on them that and I did here they are:
Aurora means Roman goddess of dawn
Boreas means Greek god of the north wind
You can usually seen either at dawn or sunset
