We are a group of 7th graders who are practicing our writing and connecting with other classrooms around the world. We love to get comments! Please leave your blog URL so we can respond back to you too!

Cheating is something that many of us have seen and/or been a part of. Click on the link below, watch the videos and answer the prompt that goes with it.
WRITE your reponse in your blog. Be honest about what you think. Support with specifics from the videos and/or from situations you've seen or been in.

The topic of the week is cells! No, not cell phones, but plant and animal cells. You, however, can pick what you’d like to write about within that topic. Possibilities could entail: communicable diseases or specific disease of cells, or spread by cells; famous or well known scientists who have worked with or discovered cells, or their diseases; cell project; your own idea. Think about what else you’d like to find out. You can choose to do a little mini research, find an article and respond, etc.
Use NetTrekker which is linked from our MRMS LMC page to do some searching! Let me know if you don’t remember and you want the login and password.

What is the best mystery or suspense story you've read so far and why? What did the author do well enough for you to claim it as "the best"? (You can always change your claim later if you read another story that you like even better.)

Watch the video below. Give a "mathematical" response to what you've seen. What other numbers could you do this with? How did you figure it out?
Enjoy!

OK-
Many of you have asked where my random facts are. Since Mr. Howard, Mrs. Kosters, and Mrs. Gagnon have all written theirs and are giving me a hard time, here it goes!
1. I was the Princess of the Beulah Valley Saddle Club when I was in 7th grade.
2. I grew up in Pueblo.
3. I have one younger sister.
4. I have a chocolate lab named Maggie who is 13 years old.
5. Growing up I had 4 horses named Annie, Ed, Lester, & IT.
6. I'm allergic to peas! (Darn!)
7. I competed in a triathlon this year and beat two friends who are younger!

Ok~ You are all awesome with the blogging! I am so impressed! This week you have two tasks to complete.
#1 This week you get to choose what you write. Write about anything! You can write a story, a poem, an article, your response to anything, etc. Just DO NOT write a summary about your day or week! Come up with a descriptive title which is spelled correctly and capitalized!
#2 Go to the classrooms list at the bottom of our “7 Random Facts” posting, and leave some comments. Please be sure that you leave positive comments in complete sentences which are spelled correctly! Don’t forget to run your spell check, capitalize your name, all proper nouns, AND … I when referring to yourself. Do NOT leave any email addresses, but DO leave the URL from your blog when it is NOT in EDIT mode.
*Keep track of the blogs you post comments on either on a separate blog article you create and save to send to me, or in paper form to turn in.
HAVE FUN!

This week is Banned Books Week, the week we celebrate the freedom of speech and freedom to read in America. In America, no book can truly be banned due to the First Amendment, but books are constantly challenged -- people ask that certain books not be used in the classroom, that certain books be removed from the library shelf, etc. Freedom of speech includes the freedom to speak out against an idea or a book.
How do you feel about this? Where does Freedom of Speech fall into this? Is this something that’s ok or do we all have the choice to choose? Give your opinion and support it.

This is a great assignment! (Thanks to Professor McGonagall) 7 Random Facts gives us a chance to look for connections all around the world. We post 7 things about us, everybody else posts 7 things about themselves (not personal)...we go around the world and leave comments! It's supposed to be fun and supposed to teach us how to leave appropriate comments with other classes around the world. You will need to sign your comments with your online name and leave a hyperlink back to your blog. (Please do not fill in your email address.)
Keep track of the blogs that you respond to, and be ready to turn that in. You may do it as an article posting on your blog, OR give it to me the old fashioned way.
THEN.... We wait until the other classrooms have posted their 7 Random Fact assignments, then we start our search!
The following classrooms are participating and are listed at the right:
South Paris Class Chat - Ms. Parisi
Ms Fisher's Class
TopDogs - Ms. H.
Dragon Blogs- Prof. McG
Durff's Computer Specials - Mrs. Durff's 3- 5
The DWMS Blog Spot - Mrs. G
Bloggerse Blast - Leta Richardson
Smith's Class Blog - M. Smith

We've spent some time talking about responsibilities and cautions when writing and working on the Internet. Write a little about what you feel to be the most important and why. Why is this important? Is it important? Please also view other teammates blogs and leave a comment according to our "discussion."
