 Thursday Today we listened to the big book From Anne to Zach, an alphabet book. After listening to it the boys and girls illustrated themselves doing something they like to do. During Daily 5 today the boys and girls increased their stamina and read for almost 10 minutes on their own! We have been learning the sounds the letters make as well as the signs for each letter. The boys and girls know that by learning the letter sounds, we will be able to learn to read and write. We are also getting pretty good at clapping out the number of words in a sentence. We know that letters together make words and that there are spaces or "nothing" between the words in a sentence. We are well on our way! In the AM we had our first Art class w/ Mrs. Collins and in the PM we had time for 2 playtimes! We learned all about "Free Choice". Some of us got to play on the computer, play with blocks, the doll house, the kitchen area, Legos and pattern blocks.
