Go Back in Time
If I could go back in time and change an event, I would force myself from first grade to read daily. Even if I do read daily I still wish that I started to read daily earlier. If I did, then I would be at a much higher reading level than I am in now.
Reaching a higher reading level is important to me because I love reading soooo much and because it would give me a lot of ideas for my writing. It would also help me learn many new words and expand my vocabulary.
I could also pick up many writing styles and develop my own special or unique writing style.

Dear YG,
Have you ever heard people saying, "It's never too late!" Well, I think in your case this is certainly true. You now realize the importance of reading on a daily basis; something you have come to understand for yourself. Us teachers, we can tell kids day after day about how important reading is, but, until they get it themselves and really want to do it... Well, our job is almost impossible. So, my advice to you right now is: enjoy your reading! You will improve day by day; you'll see. :))

Hey Yazz, I'm glad you have regrets about something which isn't too late to fix. By the way, I love your writing style, which will only improve with more reading. Hugs, your mamma

Dear YG,
You expressed yourself beautifully in your writing. I understand your feelings of regret, but while one cannot change the past, the present is here for the taking! I'm wishing you many meaningful reading experiences now and in the future. Miss Lindsey (4C)

DEar YG,
This is such an important statement. It shows a maturity and self-awareness much beyond 5th grade. I hope the first grade teachers can read this and then read it to their students. In fact, I wish I could read your blog to the assembly on Tuesday. In fact, I wish you would read it to the assembly on Tuesday. What do you think?

Hello YG,
You know, when I first read your article I had a quick connection to something we were working on in class yesterday in 5C. Our topic was related to Osteoporosis and they said that for kids who do not drink milk, eat dairy products, and eat vegetables saturated with calcium from birth till the age of 18, then it would be too late fot their bones to grow healthy. They might grow up with some spinal deformities which cause severe back pains. So, like you, I am happy you noticed how important reading is to us. It takes you places, it teaches you new ideas about cultures and people. As long as you realized the importance of reading at a very young age, is what matters now. Good Luck on your reading.
