What We Learned in Grade One
The students have taken phenomenal steps in learning this year. Below are, in their opinions, the highlights of their learning. I think you will notice a theme...
I loved hearing all about what these kiddos learned this past year. There definitely was a theme, but it sounds like these children will remember the things they learned in first grade for a lifetime! Technology is becoming such a huge part in our lives, and it is great that students can learn about iPads, Skype and blogging so early on. They can apply this knowledge throughout the rest of their school career and beyond. Thank you for sharing.

That so cute! I love kids who are like that. They seem to enjoy their schooling and I rarely see kids who are like that.

Cute kids! Lots of learning going on there. It's funny to hear the little additional things some kids said they learned besides reading, math, and writing. Keep up the great work!

Awesome! My grandson is just going to Kinder, and I can't wait for him to go to 1st grade now, so he can really learn to READ and SUBTRACT!!! I'm going to try this with my middle school choir kids. I can't wait for the results at the end of the year. I'll let you know in about 10 months!

This is so sweet! I love how all of them can confidently say what they have learned this year. Thinking about doing this in a different way for middle school!

It is so great to see students reciting what they learned during the academic year. I am looking forward to seeing other things you do in your classroom.

Ohmyword, that is a cute video! What did you make it with, iMovie?? I found your blog because I have been researching blogging in the classroom. I am hoping to begin blogging with my second graders this year. Can't wait to explore your blog some more!

This year I learned so many wonderful things from a wonderful class in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. I learned about passion based learning, and how grade one students can show their learning in ways that are meaningful to them. I learned about blogging and digital portfolios too. I have learned a lot this year and I owe some of my learning to Mrs. Cassidy and her wonderful grade one class. Thank you so much for sharing your learning with me, and my students. Have a wonderful summer everyone.
