Maungatautari visit. Yay! We are there. Where? Maungatautari of course. What is Maungatautari? It’s a really big mountain that we walk up and look at the native birds. You have to press a button that lets you in then you shut the door and open another one. Then go through and see the birds.
Mrs Collins had a jar and a cork. She spat on the jar and rubbed it then it made a noise like a fantail. All the way the fantail followed us because we disturbed the insects.
We saw some kakariki and two eggs. Then we went off track under logs, through trees and over logs.
“Why are you crying Casey?”
“The bees stung me.”
Eden got stung too and Fyfe and Josh. It would have hurt.
