RE: Possums are a pest
Dear Minister of Conservation Hon Tim Groser,
Possums are the worst and most threatening pest in New Zealand. I am going to convince you why.
First possums are known to push kiwi out of their nests at night, so that they, the possums can have a nice warm, dry place to sleep. That’s our native and endangered native bird! Possums have also been seen eating other species of native birds including the Kakapo. That’s extremely bad as it reduces our already limited bio diversity.
Second, your pets and cattle can die from the cursed T.B. that possums carry. It can spread like wildfire so all your pets could die if they caught it.
Third, possums are real enemies in NZ because possums like to eat the juicy new growth of N.Z’s native trees, including the pohutakawa. It is extremely hard for a tree to grow when it has been half eaten by a pesky possum.
As you can see possums are a terrible threat to NZ and all the natural biodiversity that it has here. We need your help and money to help fund campaigns to get rid of these terrible pests.
Yours Sincerely,
Anais.
